World gold price today May 29, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,302.6 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.09% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,231 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 104.4 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 14.3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

“The gold market has been quite volatile lately, reacting to daily fundamental news without a clear price trend,” said Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco Metals. “In the short term, it looks like a top has been formed. The Fed meeting minutes could be a catalyst. Observers are waiting for new comments on inflation this afternoon.”

The minutes of the Fed’s May policy meeting will take place against a backdrop of heightened global trade tensions, after President Trump announced a series of new import tariffs in early April. Some of the most punitive tariffs were later eased or delayed for a week.

Gold, an asset that typically benefits from low interest rates and acts as a safe haven in volatile markets, has risen 26% since the start of the year and hit a record high in April. Goldman Sachs recently recommended increasing the proportion of gold in long-term investment portfolios, citing risks to US institutional credibility, pressure on the Fed and the need for stability from central banks.

In addition, the market is also watching the upcoming US economic data GDP on Thursday, personal consumption expenditure (PCE) index on Friday and speeches from Fed officials.

Elsewhere, data showed gold imports from the United States into Switzerland jumped in April to their highest monthly level since at least 2012, after the United States exempted the precious metal from import duties.

Spot silver fell 0.3% to $33.20 an ounce, platinum rose 0.8% to $1,088.65 an ounce, while palladium fell 0.6% to $972.36 an ounce.
