Gold price dropped shockingly at the end of the week
SJC gold dropped dramatically in both directions, slipping below 81 million VND/tael, while world gold closed the week at an all-time high.
Survey at 5:00 a.m. on March 31, 2024, gold prices on the trading floors of some companies are as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 78.80 million VND/tael for buying and 80.80 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey listed the price of SJC gold at 79.30 - 80.30 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited was also traded by the enterprise at 78.45 - 80.65 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,233.48 USD/ounce. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank , the world gold price is about 66.012 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 12.288 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Japanese Yen exchange rate increased
The Japanese Yen exchange rate continued to rise after falling to a 34-year low.
Survey on the morning of March 31, 2024, Japanese Yen exchange rates at banks, specifically as follows:
At Vietcombank , the Vietcombank Japanese Yen exchange rate is 158.93 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 168.22 VND/JPY, an increase of 0.24 VND in the buying direction and an increase of 0.26 VND in the selling direction.
At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate increased by 0.26 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.87 VND/JPY and 169.57 VND/JPY.
At BIDV Bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.1 VND in both buying and selling directions, reaching 159.64 VND/JPY and 168.15 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 159.88 VND/JPY and 167.96 VND/JPY - up 0.07 VND for buying and up 0.1 VND for selling.
At Eximbank, the buying and selling prices increased by 0.21 VND, respectively at 161.37 VND/JPY and 166.07 VND/JPY.
At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.21 VND in buying and selling prices at 157.27 VND/JPY and 169.69 VND/JPY, respectively.
In the black market, the Japanese Yen/VND exchange rate increased by 0.2 VND in the buying direction and remained unchanged in the selling direction, trading at 170.01 VND/JPY in the buying direction and 171.01 VND/JPY in the selling direction, respectively.
Coffee prices increased slightly today
Domestic coffee prices updated at 4:24 a.m. on March 31, 2024 tended to increase slightly compared to the previous trading session, an increase of about 100 - 300 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 98,600 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 98,700 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 98,600 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 98,700 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 98,100 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, it is purchased at about 98,500 to 98,600 VND/kg.
