Economy class airfares on domestic flights (including taxes and fees) during the April 30 - May 1 holiday are equivalent to the prices recorded during the Lunar New Year 2025. This is the recent assessment of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
Survey data on ticket prices on some routes shows that on the first day of the April 29 holiday, economy class ticket prices for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route are currently listed by airlines at prices ranging from 3.4 - 3.74 million VND depending on the airline.
Specifically, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Airlines listed the highest ticket prices at around 3.6 million and 3.7 million, while Vietjet Air offered slightly lower prices, ranging from 2.9 - 3.68 million VND and Vietravel Airlines recorded prices up to 3.41 million VND.
On the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route, the ticket price for the trip on April 29 was also recorded at a high level, from 2.5 million VND with Vietnam Airlines, while Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways had prices ranging from 1.5 - 2.2 million VND.
The Hanoi - Da Nang route has a higher ticket price of 2.3 - 3.5 million VND with Vietnam Airlines, the remaining airlines have a ticket price of 1.9 - 2.4 million VND. The Hanoi - Phu Quoc route has the highest listed ticket price of 4.5 million VND, while Vietjet Air has a ticket price of 2.7 - 4.3 million VND, and Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc has a ticket price of 1.6 - 2.7 million VND.
The Hanoi - Cam Ranh route recorded prices ranging from 3.3 to 3.7 million VND. In the opposite direction, from tourist destinations back to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, ticket prices gradually increased during the last days of the holiday.
Surveying flights on May 4, the highest recorded ticket price for the Cam Ranh - Hanoi route was 3.68 million VND by VietJet Air, while the remaining airlines are currently out of economy class tickets.
From Cam Ranh to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet Air recorded a price of 1.8 million VND, while Vietnam Airlines' highest price was up to 2.7 million VND.
On the Phu Quoc - Hanoi route on May 4, 2025, all economy class tickets are sold out, while on the return flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Airlines' ticket prices range from 1.9 - 2.7 million VND, while other airlines such as Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines all record an average price of 1.8 million VND.
Regarding the booking situation and ticket prices on domestic routes of Vietnamese airlines during the first days of the April 29-30 holiday, the booking rate on tourist routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to localities has mostly reached over 50%. These are the days when passengers start to take a holiday and travel to domestic tourist destinations, in which some routes have reached 85-100% booking rate on April 30, 2025, such as the routes: Hanoi - Hue (89%), Hanoi - Tuy Hoa (94%), Hanoi - Chu Lai (95%), Hanoi - Dong Hoi (103%), Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc (87%), Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao (92.7%), Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa (100%)...
At the end of the holiday from May 3-4, booking rates increased on flights from local areas back to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Some routes have high booking rates, such as: Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City (98%), Tuy Hoa - Ho Chi Minh City (97%), Phu Quoc - Hanoi (100%), Tuy Hoa - Hanoi (99%), Dong Hoi - Hanoi (103%)...
For the main routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi, Hanoi - Da Nang, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, the occupancy rate is still at an average level, reaching an average of 30 - 60%.
The Hanoi - Da Nang route and vice versa has reached over 70% and is continuing to increase.
