Gasoline prices today June 6: Increased across the board

On the morning of June 6, gasoline and oil prices increased slightly, Brent oil increased by 0.48 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.7%, to 65.34 USD/barrel and WTI oil increased by 0.52 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.8%, to 63.37 USD/barrel.

World oil prices today tended to increase after the US and China agreed to resume bilateral trade negotiations following a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping .

On Reuters, senior analyst Phil Flynn of Price Futures Group commented that the easing of US-China trade tensions has boosted expectations of increased oil demand in the world's two leading economies . The information said that the phone call mainly revolved around trade issues and "ended on a very positive note."

In a related development, the US and Canada are also increasing exchanges to remove current high tariffs.

The positive news has somewhat reassured investors, pushing the oil market back to life after rising more than 1% in the previous session due to rising fuel inventories in the US. However, according to Reuters, the increase in oil prices was somewhat restrained after Saudi Arabia announced a reduction in crude oil prices for Asian customers in July to near a two-month low. This decision to adjust the selling price was made after OPEC+ announced that it would increase oil production.

Domestically, on the afternoon of June 5, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade simultaneously adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil. Of which, gasoline prices increased slightly from 70 - 135 VND/liter; oil prices increased from 180 - 285 VND/liter, however, fuel oil prices decreased by 86 VND/kg. In this price adjustment period, the Ministry also did not spend/set aside the Gasoline Price Stabilization Fund.

Since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 23 adjustment sessions, including 9 decreases, 9 increases and 5 opposite sessions./.
