World crude oil prices continue to climb as the market focuses on the US presidential election. Meanwhile, domestic gasoline prices are forecast to continue to increase at the price adjustment session on the afternoon of November 7.
Concerns about weak demand have prompted the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) to decide not to increase production again in December as planned, helping push up oil prices. This move raises doubts about the group's commitment or ability to restore supply by 2025, according to Reuters.
However, some others expressed concerns that OPEC+ oil supply cuts and recent efforts to restore production have increased volatility in the energy market, especially hindering investment in new production.
According to Goldman Sachs' forecast, WTI oil prices will average around $56/barrel by the end of 2025 and fall to $52/barrel by 2026. The reason is that the US government's policy prioritizes low energy prices to support consumers.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners (OPEC+) have decided to increase oil production, especially by Saudi Arabia, to regain market share and control members who do not comply with their quotas. This could put downward pressure on oil prices in the short term.
