"Proud of My Fatherland" Half-marathon 2ND TIME

The 2nd "Proud of My Fatherland" Half-marathon - 2025 received registrations from nearly 2,500 runners, equivalent to the number of athletes participating in the first season. This is an impressive number for a sporting event that has only officially joined the Vietnamese running community for 2 years.

1,000 BIBs for local runners

Since the morning of April 10, the Organizing Committee has coordinated with the Center for Culture - Sports - Communication of Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City to give out more than 1,000 BIBs to local runners. Many civil servants, officials and people who love running eagerly came to complete the procedures to receive their jerseys, registration numbers and racekits.

Under the enthusiastic guidance of the volunteer team, athletes and representatives of running groups registered to participate according to school units or departments and localities in the district.

Everything went smoothly, quickly handling procedures for nearly 50% of the number of athletes participating in the tournament. The participation of more than 1,000 local runners in the tournament demonstrates the great efforts of the Binh Chanh District government in supporting all aspects of the tournament. For many months, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the People's Committee of Binh Chanh District and the authorities of the two communes of Tan Nhut and Le Minh Xuan have always accompanied the Organizing Committee of the tournament, handling a huge amount of work revolving around the second large-scale and prestigious sporting event held in the locality.

Many famous people participated

Instead of organizing an Expo area to award BIBs as is customary in many other races, because the venue is not located in the city center, the Organizing Committee of the Half-marathon "Proud of My Fatherland" decided to organize the awarding of jerseys, registration numbers and racekits at the headquarters of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (127 Vo Van Tan, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3) to facilitate the athletes.

The BIB awarding is expected to take place over two days, with athletes receiving their BIBs from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on April 11 and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on April 12 at the headquarters of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. Athletes will scan the QR code sent to their personal email by the Organizing Committee and present their registered ID to receive them.

Up to this point, in addition to actor-singer ST Son Thach who has accepted to be the tournament's ambassador, many famous figures in the sports and entertainment world such as bodybuilder Pham Van Mach, winter sports athlete Tran Thi Doan Trang, rapper Dinh Tien Dat, Meritorious Artist Vo Minh Lam... will also participate in running directly at the distances.

The fact that athletes who achieved good results in the 2024 tournament such as Doan Thi Hien, Le Huu Loc or Nguyen Thi Thuong... continue to participate to defend their titles also adds color to the "Proud of My Fatherland" race this year. In addition, the presence of many famous running groups such as P2P, Agrirun, Nam A Bank, SNR (Super Night Run), Can Gio Runners Club, Vietcombank , Hi-Foods... or many foreign runners promises an explosive competition season in the historic land of Binh Chanh.

The 2nd "Proud of My Fatherland" Half-marathon - 2025 is held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (July 28, 1975 - July 28, 2025). This community sports event also aims to respond to the widespread implementation of the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" with the goal of improving people's health as well as enhancing the quality of life.

The entire competition distance of the tournament takes place on the spacious and well-maintained asphalt roads of Tan Nhut and Le Minh Xuan communes (Binh Chanh district). Along with famous historical sites such as the Revolutionary Traditional Area of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968, athletes participating in the tournament will also have the opportunity to admire the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (2nd campus in Ho Chi Minh City) in Le Minh Xuan commune - where the United Nations Day of Vesak (VESAK) 2025 will take place in early May.
