To implement the call for investment in social housing projects, Thua Thien - Hue province issued Plan No. 228/KH-UBND dated June 16, 2023, implementing the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030" of the Government in the province, with a total number of apartments completed by 2030 of 8,600.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, Thua Thien - Hue province has approved investment for 5 social housing projects to be implemented, with a land area of 17.44 hectares, a total of 6,238 apartments; of which, 2 independent social housing projects have been approved for investment in the period of 2020 - 2021: the social housing project in Area C - My Thuong New Urban Area; The social housing project in Area E - An Van Duong New Urban Area has a land area of 11.08 hectares with a total of 3,480 apartments. Currently, the project investor is preparing a detailed construction plan for the project and land allocation procedures for the project.
For 3 social housing projects from the 20% land fund of the commercial project, the urban area has a project land area of 6.36 hectares with a total of 2,758 apartments, currently implementing procedures related to basic construction and land allocation, including 1 social housing project at the 20% land fund (land fund for social housing construction in the commercial investment project) of the Thuy Van complex project phase 2, in Area B of the new urban area of An Van Duong (Ecogarden, Thuy Van ward, Hue city) has started phase 1, with about 750 apartments last July.
Many low-income people in Thua Thien - Hue province said they have deployed to buy social housing at the Thuy Van complex project phase 2 and are happy to have the opportunity to buy stable housing at a reasonable price.

Continue to develop social housing
In Thua Thien - Hue, the demand forecast for the period 2021-2025 will need about 7,978 apartments, the period 2026-2030 will need about 9,980 apartments. According to the plan, the province will allocate more than 372 hectares of land to develop social housing projects by 2025 and more than 400 hectares by 2030.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Buu Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Thua Thien - Hue province, the demand is still very high but the development of social housing is still facing many difficulties. Therefore, to overcome the difficulties, the Department of Construction recently sent the recommendations of investors to the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province to resolve the problems in the implementation of social housing construction.
In order to develop social housing in the area, Thua Thien - Hue province has also publicized and introduced the land fund for social housing investment to enterprises for research and investment proposals; balanced and arranged the local budget to encourage and provide additional incentives to call on economic sectors to participate in investing in developing social housing in the area.
In addition, planning and arranging social housing projects and independent worker housing projects in suitable, convenient locations, with large scale, full technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, especially in Hue city area.
