Departure stage 5 from Phan Thiet - La Gi

Stage 5 from Phan Thiet City to La Gi Town will be a stage that promises many surprises when the host Binh Duong continues to be the driving force to bring the racing team to the finish line together . The competition for the green jersey title will continue between the 3 leading racers Nguyen Thi That, Kasuga Watabe and Jutatip Maneephan at the two Sprint stops and at the finish line.

Finishing stage 4

Yesterday afternoon (March 15), the racers competed in stage 4 from Phan Rang-Thap Cham City (Ninh Thuan) to Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) with a length of 164 km, with the effort of taking turns to pull the large group to the finish line and successfully defend the title held by the host team Binh Duong. Racer Nguyen Thi Thi (Loc Troi An Giang Group) won against the three racers in the leading group, coming in first with a time of 4h 03'21" - an average speed of 40.436 km/h.

This is the longest stage of the race and the riders have to cross Khuong Hai Pass after the race has gone 36 km along with competing for 3 awards along the way (Sprint) to continue competing for bonus points between the leading riders in the green jersey. The home team Binh Duong proactively took the initiative to act as the tractor to bring the race to the finish line together to protect the yellow jersey Natalia Frolova (Biwase Binh Duong) and the team ranking they are holding. Although she is no longer able to compete for the red dot award with racer Natalia Frolova (currently with 59 points), racer Sofia Baeva (France Clubs Defense - France) still tried to attack to escape alone after nearly 30 km, and gradually created a gap of nearly 1' compared to the large group behind.

Sofia Baeva finished first to gain 15 points and raise her total score to 38 points, Nur Aisyah Mohamad Zubir (Malaysia) finished second to gain 11 points, followed by Kim Syrel Bonilla (Philippines - 8 points), Hadenova Majid An Naafi Putri (Indonesia - 5 points), Phi Kun Pam (Nex Kedah Cycling - 3 points) and Phetdarin Somrat (Thailand Women's Cycling - 1 point).

Solongo Tserenlkham (Mongolia Team) broke away from the pack to reach the first Sprint point after 45km and won 5 bonus points, behind Nguyen Thi That (Loc Troi An Giang Group) who won ahead of Jutatip Maneephan (Thailand Women's Cycling) and Kasuga Watabe (Biwase Elephant Fertilizer) to win 3 bonus points in the green jersey when finishing second.

The large group headed towards Sprint 3 after 114 km, once again racer Nguyen Thi That (Loc Troi An Giang Group) pulled away from Kasuga Watabe and Jutatip Maneephan to win 5 bonus points in the green jersey. With more than 10 km to go, 4 racers Nguyen Thi Thi, Solongo Tserenlkham, Anggelica Altamarino (Philippines Team) and Elizabeth Liau (Singapore Academy/X-Spped) separated from the large group and took turns pulling at high speed and brought each other to the finish line to compete for the stage ranking at the finish line.

Nguyen Thi Thi pulled ahead of her three co-drivers to win the stage, followed by Anggelica Altamarino, Solongo Tserenlkham and Elizabeth Liau. Nguyen Thi That pulled ahead of the pack to take fifth place, taking the lead in the green jersey with 39 points, followed by Kasuga Watabe (38 points) and Jutatip Maneephan (23 points).

The yellow jersey finished in the group after only 26” so the overall ranking did not change, racer Natalia Frolova still led after 4 stages with a total time of 10h 32'51", second place Kasuga Watabe (over 3'05") and third place Bui Thi Hue (Biwase Binh Duong - 3'17"). Racer Natalia Frolova won the red dot jersey with 59 points and racer Kasuga Watabe still led the white jersey. The home team Biwase Binh Duong led the team championship after 31h 46'25", second place Uzbekistan Team (over 3'08") and third place Loc Troi Group (over 3'32").

Mr. Ngo Van Lui - Head of the tournament organizing committee, said: In the history of sports organized in Vietnam, there has never been a sports tournament with as many participating countries as this season, 14 international teams and 10 domestic teams participating. Regarding the race, this year is also a new experience for athletes when experiencing different levels of emotions, in terms of difficulty, new routes and conquering 12 passes, some of which are up to 160km long. The quality of the sports this year is very high, completing the content of the match, the average speed is from 40 - 60km/h.
