On June 2, at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi , the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the first VOAI award, 2025, took place.
The VOAI contest took place on June 1-2, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training , the Vietnam Association for Information Technology in collaboration with the Institute for Innovation and Quality Assessment and the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
This is the first time Vietnam has organized a national AI competition specifically for high school students, aiming to select a national team to participate in the International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) to take place in Beijing, China in August.
The competition was launched in April 2025 with nearly 150 students nationwide meeting the AI competency standards participating in the preliminary round. Through the preliminary round results on May 11, 99 excellent candidates from 28 high schools in 17 provinces/cities, 4 specialized high schools affiliated with universities across the country were selected for the final round.
Nguyen Phu Nhan (holding the Cup) won the 2025 National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad Champion for students.
After intense competition, Nguyen Phu Nhan, an 11th grade student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang, won the VOAI 2025 Championship.

The 7 first prizes of the contest went to the following contestants: Nguyen Viet Trung Nhan, Nguyen Huu Tuan, Bui Quang Nguyen, Nguyen Nhat Minh, High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University; Bui Dam Quan, Nguyen Khac Trung Quan, High School for Gifted Students of Hanoi National University of Education; Hoang Cong Bao Long, Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students, Da Nang.
According to the Organizing Committee, the two second prize winners, Vu Dinh Bao Vinh and Tran Thuan Hieu, from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, will join the champion and seven first prize winners in the selection round of the Ministry of Education and Training to select eight candidates to represent Vietnam in the 2025 International Artificial Intelligence Competition, which will take place in Beijing, China from August 2 to August 9.
