On June 2nd, the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the first VOAI Prize 2025 took place at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University , Hanoi .
The VOAI competition took place on June 1-2, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training , the Vietnam Informatics Association, in collaboration with the Institute for Innovation and Quality Assurance Research and the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
This is the first time Vietnam has organized a nationwide AI competition specifically for high school students, aiming to select the national team to participate in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) which will take place in Beijing, China in August.
The competition was launched in April 2025 with nearly 150 students nationwide meeting the AI competency standards participating in the preliminary round. Following the preliminary round on May 11th, 99 outstanding contestants from 28 high schools in 17 provinces/cities and 4 specialized high schools affiliated with universities across the country were selected for the final round.
Nguyen Phu Nhan (holding the trophy) won the National Artificial Intelligence Olympic Championship for High School Students in 2025.
After intense competition, Nguyen Phu Nhan, an 11th-grade student from Le Quy Don Specialized High School in Da Nang, won the VOAI 2025 competition.

The 7 first prizes of the competition were awarded to the following contestants: Nguyen Viet Trung Nhan, Nguyen Huu Tuan, Bui Quang Nguyen, Nguyen Nhat Minh, High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Bui Dam Quan, Nguyen Khac Trung Quan, High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi University of Education; and Hoang Cong Bao Long, Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students, Da Nang.
According to the organizers, the two second-place winners, Vu Dinh Bao Vinh and Tran Thuan Hieu from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, along with the champion and seven first-place winners, will advance to the selection round organized by the Ministry of Education and Training to choose eight contestants to represent Vietnam at the 2025 International Artificial Intelligence Competition, which will take place in Beijing, China from August 2nd to 9th.
