Accordingly, in Decision No. 397 signed by the Prime Minister today, February 25, the Prime Minister appointed Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi Police, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. The decision takes effect from March 1.

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was established on the basis of the Ethnic Minorities Committee receiving additional functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus on religion from the Ministry of Home Affairs , with Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung as Minister.

Previously on February 19, the Prime Minister also mobilized and appointed deputy ministers of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions . Including Mr. Y Vinh Tor - alternate member of the Party Central Committee, deputy minister, vice chairman of the Ethnic Minorities Committee - to hold the position of deputy minister of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Mr. Y Thong - Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee - was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Ms. Nong Thi Ha - Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee - was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Thus, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has four deputy ministers.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung was born in 1968 in Vinh Phuc, and held the position of Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Public Security. On April 1, 2016, Mr. Trung was appointed Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security, Ministry of Public Security.

On August 21, 2018, Mr. Trung was appointed to the position of Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.

On June 8, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung was transferred by the Ministry of Public Security to the Ministry to assume the position of permanent deputy head of the Inspection Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee; head of the Inspection Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee.

He has held the position of Director of Hanoi City Police from July 2020 to present.
