Director of Quang Binh Department of Tourism retires early to create opportunities for the younger generation

(NADS) - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Director of the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, has applied for early retirement, although he still has nearly 4 years of work left. This decision is to facilitate the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus and open up opportunities for young, dynamic staff to contribute.

With more than 30 years of work experience, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy has held many important positions, especially the role of Director of Quang Binh Department of Tourism. He is highly appreciated for "reviving" tourism in the province after the marine environmental incident and the COVID-19 pandemic. Although he will not reach retirement age until December 2028, Mr. Quy voluntarily retired 45 months early.

Sharing about this decision, Mr. Quy said: “To facilitate the arrangement and organization of the apparatus…, and at the same time create conditions and opportunities for young, dynamic cadres to work and contribute, I respectfully write a petition to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to agree to allow me to retire early…”

He emphasized that voluntary early retirement will create opportunities for more capable young officials to contribute. “Just think that in life, in society, in work, there are many people more talented than you. Just trust them to do the work, surely the work efficiency will be higher, contributing more to the homeland and the country,” Mr. Quy added.

Many of his subordinates expressed their respect and admiration for Mr. Quy's decision. They said that this action demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, put the common interest first, and created conditions for the younger generation to develop.

An officer shared: “Director Quy’s decision not only shows personal sacrifice but also sets a shining example for us to follow. He always puts the interests of the collective and the development of the industry first.”

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy’s decision to retire early is a testament to his pioneering spirit and willingness to sacrifice for the common development. This is also an opportunity for young cadres to continue to promote their capacity and contribute to the development of Quang Binh province.
