Reduce corruption cases in the banking sector

On the afternoon of September 25, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the Party Committee of the State Bank held a conference to review 10 years of implementing the Regulation on coordination in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and to advise and direct the handling of serious violations of the law in the monetary and banking sectors.

The report at the conference affirmed that after 10 years of implementing the Coordination Regulations between the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the State Bank Party Committee, it has proven its necessity, created close connections, and improved the effectiveness of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in the banking sector.

The coordination has brought about many outstanding results, from timely advice to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity to monitoring and strictly handling many violations, contributing to deterring and preventing corruption. At the same time, it has overcome loopholes in the mechanism, ensuring the credit system operates safely and stably, making an important contribution to controlling inflation and socio -economic development.

According to Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Hong Quang: The issuance of the Coordination Regulations between the two agencies is necessary, with practical content and appropriate methods, creating closer connections in the activities between the two agencies, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, minimizing negative corruption cases and incidents in the monetary and banking sectors. Warning of risks, overcoming loopholes and inadequacies of mechanisms, policies and laws, especially contributing to helping commercial banks adjust their operations to become increasingly stable and safe.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam affirmed that the coordination regulations signed in 2015 are an important political basis, helping the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the Party Committee of the State Bank to closely, synchronously and comprehensively connect, creating a spillover effect throughout the industry. Thanks to that, the coordination work is increasingly systematic and regular, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of officials, tightening discipline, promoting publicity, transparency, preventing and stopping corruption and negativity in the monetary and banking sector.

In the coming time, the Party Committee of the State Bank pledges to continue to closely, comprehensively and effectively coordinate with the Central Internal Affairs Committee and relevant agencies, strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, build a safe, healthy, transparent, and sustainably developing banking system, worthy of its role as the lifeblood of the economy, contributing to the country's sustainable development - Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong said.
