Preventing and fighting corruption is associated with Party building and rectification work.

On November 13, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity during the 13th Party Congress. The conference assessed the results achieved, limitations, causes and proposed directions and tasks for the coming time.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Dang Van Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of Nghe An province in the past term. Nghe An has had many creative ways of working, closely following the Central's direction, strictly handling many cases, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the work of Party building and rectification.

Mr. Dang Van Dung requested Nghe An province to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's policies and regulations and the State's laws on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; strengthen leadership and direction in detecting and promptly and strictly handling cases and lawsuits according to the principle: "If there is a case, it must be verified and clarified; handle it actively, urgently, and clearly as far as possible; if there are signs of crime, it must be prosecuted, investigated, prosecuted, and tried according to regulations; if the case has not yet reached the level of criminal prosecution, it must be strictly disciplined according to the regulations of the Party and the State; there are no forbidden zones, no exceptions".

In the coming time, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has determined that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity is a key and regular political task, closely linked to the work of building and rectifying the Party, consolidating a clean and strong political system. The Provincial Party Committee requires all levels and sectors to continue to promote the exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, especially the heads of Party committees, authorities, agencies and units; resolutely and strictly handle cases of lax leadership, lack of responsibility or allowing corruption, waste and negativity to occur in the fields and areas under their responsibility.

Nghe An will step up inspection, supervision and monitoring to detect, prevent and promptly and strictly handle violations; strengthen coordination between functional agencies, ensuring that prevention, detection and handling of violations are carried out effectively and in accordance with the law.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee also directed to continue to innovate, improve the quality of propaganda and education, promote the supervisory role of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the press and the people in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity. The unit promoted administrative reform, streamlined the organization, operated effectively and efficiently; improved the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees, especially in areas and positions where corruption, waste and negativity are likely to arise.

Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary, presented Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements.

According to the report at the conference, during the 13th Party Congress, the fight against corruption, waste and negativity in the province was carried out synchronously and comprehensively and achieved many important results. The awareness, responsibility and actions of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, cadres, Party members and people have clearly changed, contributing to maintaining political stability and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.

This result is thanks to the increasingly improved system of Party regulations and State laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; propaganda, dissemination and implementation work are carried out seriously and promptly. In addition, the close direction of the Central Steering Committee; the strong leadership and management of the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee; the synchronous participation of all levels, sectors, the political system and the whole society, the consensus, support and supervision of the people have created a strong spreading force, contributing to improving the effectiveness of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

At the conference, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities presented many papers focusing on key contents such as inspection, supervision, detection and handling of corruption, waste and negativity; inspection and handling of party organizations and party members related to cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee; results of detection and handling of violations through inspection, examination, settlement of complaints and denunciations; the role of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and people in supervision and social criticism, contributing to preventing and effectively fighting corruption, waste and negativity.
