The beach tourism season is a “golden” opportunity for Nghe An OCOP products to reach a large, potential consumer market. The OCOP booth in Cua Lo will be the connection point between local specialties and the shopping and experience needs of tourists. This is not only an effective consumption channel but also a strategic test for the quality, design and competitiveness of Nghe An products in the tourism market.
This year's tourist season, in addition to the clear blue water, smooth sand and fresh seafood, Vinh City People's Committee also brings a new experience to visitors when coming to Cua Lo - that is the space to display and introduce OCOP products - where the quintessence of Nghe An specialties is gathered and spread.
Nghe An currently has many large-scale production facilities with output of tens of tons/year, in which, many ham products of many entities recognized as 3-star, 4-star OCOP will also be present at the booths. Photo: TP
With a scale of 60 booths, more than 200 products from hundreds of participating businesses and entities, the OCOP booth in Cua Lo is expected to be a highlight in the 2025 sea tourism picture. Not just a place to shop, the OCOP space opens up another journey of discovery , adding experiences because each gift carries the flavor, story and sentiment of Nghe An people.
Previously, to buy Nam Dan specialties such as veal sausage, Hung Nguyen eggplant cakes or handicraft products such as Diem rattan and bamboo, Hoa Tien brocade, etc., many tourists had to search online, order online and wait for shipping. This inconvenience not only reduced the buyer’s experience but also made local specialties difficult for tourists to access.

Therefore, the appearance of the OCOP booth right at Cua Lo beach has a special meaning. That is, it both shortens the distance between local products and consumers, and at the same time, creates an attractive cultural and commercial space right at the key tourist destination.
Tourists coming to Cua Lo this year will have more interesting experiences. After swimming and walking around the coastal city, they can visit the OCOP booth to buy gifts that are imbued with the identity of Nghe An. From familiar gifts such as processed seafood, convenient to bring back as gifts; from dried agricultural products, honey, herbal tea... to handicrafts, all are carefully selected, meticulous from design to quality. This is not only a shopping activity, but also part of the journey to discover the culture, people and identity of Nghe An.

Ms. Tran Thanh Hoang (Binh Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City) said: “I booked a tour to Cua Lo on the occasion of April 30 - May 1 this year. Through the travel agency, I learned that this year's tour to Cua Lo will have a space to experience Nghe An OCOP products. I feel very excited and look forward to it. Because before, when traveling to Cua Lo, we only knew how to buy seafood as gifts and did not have time to wait to buy other local specialties."
What is special is that behind each OCOP product displayed at this Summer booth is a meticulous preparation process by the producers. From raw materials, processing techniques to packaging design, stamps, labels, etc., all are invested in more thoroughly and professionally, in order to meet the increasingly high tastes of tourists.

They not only sell their products, but also bring their beliefs, feelings, and expectations to a new consumption channel - where each customer is an ambassador promoting their hometown products. Bamboo and rattan weaving establishments have improved their designs to suit modern spaces; some traditional food producers have invested in QR codes and introductory videos so that customers can fully understand the origin of their products.
Mr. Thai Dang Tien - Director of Tra Lan Cooperative (Chau Khe Commune, Con Cuong District) said: "Participating in the booth displaying and introducing OCOP products in Cua Lo during this year's beach tourism season, our Cooperative has selected the most typical products, the best quality and the most beautiful designs. Each product delivered to visitors is a valuable gift, a story about Tra Lan bamboo, a story about the craftsmen who made the product".

From a tourism perspective, the establishment of an OCOP booth in Cua Lo not only meets the shopping needs of tourists but also creates a new tourism product - experiential tourism combined with consumption. This is a popular trend in many localities, as tourists increasingly want to touch products associated with the land they visit, and bring back not only material gifts but also spiritual gifts full of memories and impressions. For a locality rich in products like Nghe An, this is a golden opportunity for typical products to "catch up" with the tourism market.
On the other hand, this is not only a highlight in the beach tourism season but also a premise for building a long-term strategy in developing the local economy in a sustainable direction, using tourism as a bridge to spread local values. When tourists stop and choose to buy a specialty, they not only bring back a gift, but also bring with them the flavor of the land, the feelings of the people and an unforgettable impression of a Nghe An rich in identity. That is the soft power that OCOP can create to attract tourists.

From April 28 to May 2, Vinh City People's Committee organized Program to introduce, connect supply and demand, promote consumption of OCOP products, typical and unique products to welcome Cua Lo Sea Tourism Year 2025. Accordingly, there will be about 60 booths, with 200 product codes which are OCOP products, specialties, and products of Nghe An and other provinces and cities across the country.
