Nghe An fined 52 million VND to 4 establishments for violating food safety

On April 10, 2025, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 980/QD-UBND on the establishment of an interdisciplinary delegation to inspect the implementation of legal regulations on ensuring food safety on the occasion of the Food Safety Action Month 2025 in Nghe An province.

From April 14 to May 15, 2025, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team conducted food safety inspections at 3 Food Safety Steering Committees of Thai Hoa town, Hung Nguyen district and Quy Hop district. The team inspected 25 food production, processing and trading establishments and food service establishments in the province. Of the 25 inspected establishments, there were 11 food production and trading establishments; 14 food service establishments (3 collective kitchens; 1 industrial catering establishment and 10 restaurants, restaurants in hotels ) .

Through the inspection, the interdisciplinary inspection team noted positive points in the activities of the steering committees and food production, processing, trading and catering service establishments. At the same time, the interdisciplinary inspection team also pointed out shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome.

Accordingly, the work of granting certificates of food safety eligibility and signing commitments to ensure food safety is still limited. The inspection and supervision of the State management of food safety in communes and towns under the management area has not been carried out. Some establishments do not fully comply with regulations on food safety conditions such as: The storage area does not have shelves for products; there is no separate arrangement according to the law on the place to change protective clothing; there is no full implementation of temperature monitoring for products with special storage requirements in the storage area; people in direct contact with food do not wear full protective gear according to regulations; the food storage area does not have enough shelves for food according to regulations; the kitchen drainage system is not covered; and food business of unknown origin is carried out.

The interdisciplinary inspection team has drawn up administrative violation records for 4 violating establishments and transferred the files to the competent authorities to request the issuance of a Decision on administrative penalty in accordance with their authority, with a total fine of 52 million VND.

The establishments that were fined for violating regulations include: Kyodo Foods production workshop business household (address in Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district; fined 12 million VND); The World of Milk Investment Joint Stock Company branch in Nghe An (address in Hung Loc ward, Vinh city; fined 12 million VND); Tu Phuong Food Joint Stock Company - Business location No. 12 (address in Hong Son ward, Vinh city; fined 16 million VND); Nam Thang Industrial Catering Service Joint Stock Company (address in Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district; fined 12 million VND)./.
