Recorded at the Lam River alluvial area in Dai Dong commune on the morning of May 20, reporters noticed many rows of corn that had collapsed and broken in half after heavy rains. Mr. Tran Van Luu, a resident of Dai Dong commune, said that his family had 2 sao of corn that had been planted for more than 2 months and was currently in the stage of starting to form young corn.

However, after the recent storm, the entire corn field was completely destroyed. Because the stalks were broken and could not be restored, he was forced to harvest early to use as animal feed.
Mr. Luu Van Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dai Dong Commune, Thanh Chuong District said: The whole commune currently has nearly 40 hectares of corn grown on alluvial land along the Lam River. The recent thunderstorm caused more than 10 hectares of these to collapse, causing significant damage to the people. The commune government is directing hamlets to urgently collect the collapsed area to utilize as a source of animal feed.
