
The survey activity is to serve the National Scientific Conference "Research, preservation and promotion of the value of Buddhist cultural heritage of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute".
The survey team also included many scientists and researchers from institutes, schools and research agencies across the country. Here, the researchers assessed the current status of the relic in detail, proposed conservation and restoration solutions, ensuring archaeological, architectural, cultural - religious and historical aspects, towards the goal of sustainable heritage conservation.
It is known that the National Scientific Conference "Research, preservation and promotion of the value of Buddhist cultural heritage of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute" aims to systematize documents, supplement new documents and discoveries; comprehensively assess the value of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute as a scientific basis for orientation, propose effective conservation and promotion solutions, contributing to providing scientific documents for the construction of a dossier to submit to UNESCO for inclusion in the list of World Heritage.
The conference is expected to be held in November 2025 with more than 200 delegates attending. The conference's content includes 3 topics: Champa Buddhism and Dong Duong Buddhist Institute in history; Value and role of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute; Preservation and promotion of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute relic.
After hundreds of years of erosion and destruction by nature and war, most of the architectural details on the ground of Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery are no longer intact. The only remaining vestige today is a single brick wall of Sang Tower, currently supported by sturdy iron pillars to avoid the risk of collapse.
In December 2019, Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery was ranked as a special national monument by the Prime Minister .
