SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft landed in the ocean in Florida (USA) and when she was taken out of the capsule, astronaut Williams had to be helped onto a stretcher by two people, because she had lived in a state of weightlessness for 9 months.

Two American astronauts, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, returned to Earth on March 18 after nine months stuck on the International Space Station ISS.

Two NASA astronauts flew to the ISS laboratory last June, on a mission that was supposed to last just eight days to test Boeing's Starliner spacecraft on its first manned flight.

However, the ship had problems with its propulsion system and was deemed unsafe to return them. The ship had to return to Earth unmanned, while Wilmore (62 years old) and Williams (59 years old) - two former US Navy pilots - had to stay on the ISS.

In September 2024, the Crew Dragon spacecraft, with American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov on board, was launched to the ISS with four seats, instead of the usual two, to make room for the two stranded astronauts.

And on the morning of March 15, the replacement Crew-10 crew successfully docked with the ISS space station, paving the way for Wilmore and Williams to return.
