On April 13, the Phu Tho Association in the Czech Republic solemnly held a ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings, expressing gratitude to the Hung Kings who built and defended the country.
The ceremony was held in Prague under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic.
The event attracted a large number of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries to attend.
The Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony 2024 in the Czech Republic took place with all the solemn rituals of a national holiday.
After the incense offering program to pay respect to the Hung Kings, delegates and overseas Vietnamese attending enjoyed performances of folk songs imbued with traditional national cultural identity performed by actors in the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, said that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is increasingly developing and integrating deeply into the host society.
Along with that, community members always look back to their homeland, promoting the precious traditions of the nation right in their "second homeland".
These beautiful images of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic certainly warm the hearts of our ancestors.
On behalf of the Vietnamese diplomatic mission in the Czech Republic, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam reiterated the great significance of the Hung Kings' death anniversary, in which the worship of the Hung Kings has become a lasting traditional identity and morality, passed down and continued through generations of Vietnamese people, showing the respect and gratitude of descendants to their ancestors.
At the same time, this is also a spiritual activity, praying for national peace and prosperity and has a profound meaning of solidarity, love and mutual support of the Vietnamese ethnic community.
With that meaning, the Ambassador believes that overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic will continue to promote the nation's fine cultural traditions, increase mutual assistance in life and work, build a developed community, integrate well with the host country and always look towards their homeland and country.
The 10th day of the 3rd lunar month every year is the common death anniversary of Vietnamese people across the five continents. On this occasion, overseas Vietnamese in many countries around the world hold ceremonies to pay homage to the Hung Kings, sincerely turning to their ancestors./.
