In order to hand over the land to the construction unit as committed, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lai's family (Quy Thanh 1 village, Thang Binh commune) is busy dismantling their old house and packing their belongings to move to the resettlement site.
The work progressed faster when local militia and youth came to help. These forces also assisted Mr. Lai's family in building a temporary shelter to protect themselves and store belongings before the new house was completed.
"My house was completely demolished, and many items and materials could be reused, so we had to put in the effort to dismantle them. With the help of the militia, my family saved on labor costs," Mr. Lai shared.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14E through Thang Binh commune is nearly 4.2km long. To date, the local authorities have handed over more than 80% of the land to the construction unit.
Regarding the railway overpass project, the competent authorities have approved compensation plans for 56 out of 59 households, totaling over 12 billion VND. Of these, 48 households have received the money and committed to handing over the land.
Besides coordinating with relevant units to expedite compensation and resettlement procedures, the People's Committee of Thang Binh commune mobilized local militia and youth forces to visit each household to understand their needs and provide assistance. The presence of these forces helped people dismantle and move their belongings to designated collection points quickly, safely, and economically.
Mr. Pham Van Thong (from Quy Thanh 1 village) stated that the project's delays in approval and resettlement have negatively impacted people's lives for a long time. He added that when the two levels of local government are operational, officials actively meet with, dialogue with, and listen to the concerns and aspirations of the people.
Actions such as assisting with dismantling and transporting belongings, and setting up temporary housing for disadvantaged households demonstrate a proactive spirit, empathy, and a willingness to stand alongside people affected by the project.

Over the past week, the Thang Binh Commune Military Command has dismantled more than 5 houses slated for complete demolition, prioritizing assistance for disadvantaged households and those lacking manpower.
The People's Committee of Thang Binh commune is continuing to mobilize more volunteers to assist the remaining households in order to complete the handover of the land to the construction unit as soon as possible.
Mr. Doan Thanh Khiet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Binh commune, said that in order for the project to be completed by the end of this year, the locality is actively implementing solutions to hand over 100% of the land through the commune's territory. Fortunately, through persuasion and communication, the people have accepted the compensation and land clearance plan.
"We continue to implement support and assistance plans to help people resettle and stabilize their lives as soon as possible. This is how the local government strengthens trust and spreads high consensus in compensation and land clearance work," Mr. Khiet said.
