Contractors are currently constructing the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway in Dat Mui commune, Ca Mau province.

To date, the land for the main route has been largely handed over, contributing to creating favorable conditions for the construction unit to carry out the project items on schedule.

According to the leaders of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, the key infrastructure project of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway passes through the communes of Ho Thi Ky, Khanh An, Khanh Binh, Luong The Tran, Hung My, Cai Nuoc, Phu My, Nguyen Viet Khai, Dat Moi, and Dat Mui. The entire project affects nearly 1,653 households and individuals, with a total land area of approximately 741 hectares to be acquired.

According to provincial leaders, at the end of November 2025, the Provincial People's Committee launched a campaign to encourage the affected communes and relevant agencies to mobilize the people to agree to hand over the land to the construction unit. To date, the main route's land has been largely handed over to the construction unit.

Mr. Bui Hung Liet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung My commune, said that the commune has a 11.5 km stretch of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway passing through it, affecting 317 households. To date, 100% of the land for the main route through the commune has been handed over to the construction unit with the consent of the people. Mr. Bui Hung Liet also said that to achieve the goal of handing over 100% of the land for the main route to the construction unit, the local authorities mobilized the entire political system, going to the homes of affected households to disseminate information about the objectives and significance of the project, and the legal regulations on compensation and resettlement support so that people understand clearly. The local government has promptly rewarded individuals and groups with good and effective methods in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, in Dat Moi commune, Chairman of the People's Committee Huynh Viet Trieu said that the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway project, the section passing through the commune's territory, affects 8 hamlets, with 212 households and 3 organizations affected, and the affected area is 162.3 hectares.

As of December 12, 2025, the commune had completed the handover of 100% of the main route to the construction unit, and 100% of affected households had received compensation. This achievement was thanks to the coordinated efforts of the political system and the consensus of the people in implementing the construction project.

According to the People's Committee of Cai Nuoc commune, the project, which passes through the commune, has a total length of approximately 3.79 km and requires the acquisition of about 24.86 hectares of land. To date, 100% of the households affected by the project have handed over the land to the construction unit, and 62 out of 81 households have agreed to receive compensation according to the approved plan.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dang Tuan, Head of Project Management Department, Project Management Board 166 ( Ministry of National Defense ), said that in the 10 communes through which the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway passes, 8 communes have handed over 100% of the main route land to the construction unit, while Khanh An commune has handed over 70% and Luong The Tran commune has handed over 98% of the main route land to the construction unit.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dang Tuan said that in the coming time, the Project Management Board 166 will continue to coordinate with local authorities and construction units to persuade and educate the remaining households to hand over the land as soon as possible so that the construction unit can proceed with the project on schedule.

The Ca Mau – Dat Mui expressway is 81 km long, with 4 lanes, two continuous emergency stopping lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h. It is divided into two projects: the Ca Mau - Cai Nuoc project (42 km) and the Cai Nuoc - Dat Mui project (39 km). This is a strategically important project for the socio-economic and cultural development of the province in particular and the country in general.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Duy Cuong, Deputy Director of the Southern Truong Son Construction Division (Truong Son Construction Corporation), the division participated in the construction of the Ca Mau - Cai Nuoc expressway, which is 42 km long. After the commencement of construction, the corporation proactively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to effectively mobilize local people to hand over the land and gradually implement construction. At the same time, the corporation organized the mobilization of manpower and equipment to the construction site.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Duy Cuong, the immediate focus will be on implementing items such as service roads, auxiliary works, mixing plants, beam casting yards, and pumping sand into some locations to serve the preliminary construction, and the piling work... initial results have been achieved, especially in the Ca Mau - Cai Nuoc section of the project.
