Help drug addicts reintegrate into the community

In recent years, the work of managing,educating and helping drug addicts in the province has always been of interest to all levels and sectors. In particular, clubs and models to help drug addicts reintegrate into the community have brought about many positive results, helping drug addicts reintegrate into the community.

Mr. Pham Quang Minh in Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district, used to be a drug addict. Since receiving methadone treatment in the community and participating in activities at the charity club, he has been motivated to quit drugs and start his life over.

Currently, he is supported by the club with breeding cows. Along with that, he works hard every day to grow acacia and work in production to develop the economy and create a stable life.

Mr. Pham Quang Minh received support from the Love Club for breeding cows to develop the economy.

The charity club was established in 2010 by the Ha Tinh Border Guard and the Son Kim 1 commune government, Huong Son district. It currently has 45 members who are drug addicts, HIV-infected people and their relatives.

For over 14 years, the club has been a common home for members to live, share and help each other develop economically.

For people who have been drug addicts, when returning to their hometowns, they often feel inferior and self-conscious, and sometimes have to endure discrimination from those around them, making it difficult for them to reintegrate into the community.

Therefore, propaganda, support and creating a healthy living environment for them are always of concern. All levels, sectors and localities have established and expanded many more clubs and models to create motivation and support for people after drug rehabilitation to reform, avoiding relapse.

Ha Tinh Border Guard always accompanies charity clubs to support drug addicts.

The work of "compassion" and "sympathy" clubs has helped many drug addicts have the opportunity to reintegrate into the community and give up drugs.

In particular, through regular propaganda, reminders and encouragement from the clubs, it has contributed to raising people's awareness of the harmful effects of drugs on health and spirit, so that they can stay away from social evils and join hands in the fight against drug crimes./.
