Providing livelihoods that match needs
Recently, the Provincial Women's Union in collaboration with the Provincial Women's Entrepreneurs Association awarded 5 means of livelihood, each worth 5 million VND, to support women in particularly difficult circumstances in Van Ninh district to develop the economy . The means awarded in this period include: flour mill, fruit juicer, water pump, sugarcane juicer, motorbike, based on the practical needs of each woman. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tan (Xuan Tho village, Xuan Son commune) is 1 of 5 women receiving support in this period. Ms. Tan's family is a near-poor household, her husband has a leaky heart valve so he can only do light work; her mother-in-law has cancer and is undergoing treatment. Ms. Tan's right eye was injured in an accident, she is currently selling sugarcane juice to earn income to raise 3 young children. She was supported with funds to buy a new sugarcane juicer, but because she did not have enough money, she used that money to buy a blender, an orange juicer, and a set of plastic tables and chairs to sell more types of juice. “Every day, I sell 15 to 25 cups of sugarcane juice and sell banh can in the morning to earn more income. With support for my livelihood, I have more tools to make juice to sell, have money to take care of my children's education and support my husband,” Ms. Tan confided.

Ms. Le Thi Truong (Dong Bac village, Dai Lanh commune) also received support from the units this time. Ms. Truong's family is in a particularly difficult situation, her husband is severely disabled, and she herself has a weak left leg. Although she and her husband are old, they have to raise 3 children who are still in school. Her main income depends on making banh beo and banh hoi, but the flour milling machine is broken, affecting the family's economy. After receiving the support money, she ordered a new flour milling machine to continue making cakes and have income to take care of her family.
Supporting women to rise up
From 2017 to present, the Provincial Women's Entrepreneurs Association has coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union to present 75 means of livelihood with a total value of more than 400 million VND to members, poor women, and those in difficult circumstances in localities in the province. The means presented include: Hairdressing tool sets; noodle and pho selling tools; bicycles, motorbikes; sugarcane juice carts; cabinets and stationery; tables, chairs; plants and seeds; water pumps... Thanks to the means of livelihood presented, women in difficult circumstances have created jobs for themselves and their family members, ensuring a stable income with an average of 3 to 5 million VND/month. In addition, the Provincial Women's Entrepreneurs Association has presented nearly 1,000 gifts of necessities with a total cost of nearly 200 million VND to women in difficult circumstances in localities. According to Ms. Nguyen My Hue - Vice President of the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association, the funding for giving livelihood means and gifts was mobilized by the association's members and called on other businesses to contribute.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Van Ha - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said that over the past 8 years, the program has promptly supported means of livelihood according to the needs of members, helping women have means of production, start-up, establish a business, and bring in stable income. In the coming time, the association will continue to coordinate with units and organizations to mobilize resources to provide means of livelihood to help members in difficult circumstances have conditions to do business, develop the economy, and take care of their families.
