Ha Giang holds memorial service and burial of martyrs' remains at high points of Vi Xuyen district

NDO - On the morning of April 25, Ha Giang province held a memorial service and buried 6 sets of martyrs' remains at Vi Xuyen Martyrs' Cemetery. Attending were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council; People's Committee; Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Giang province.

All martyrs who were mourned and buried were searched and gathered by the team of collecting and searching for martyrs' remains of the Military Command of Ha Giang province at the high points of Thanh Thuy commune, Vi Xuyen district. These are the remains of martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed in the battle to protect the northern border, all of whose identities have not been determined.

In the battle to protect the northern border, at the Vi Xuyen front, thousands of soldiers and people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang province fought with intelligence, courage, and resilience with the will of "not giving up an inch, not leaving a millimeter", determined to hold each hilltop, each cliff, and each high point with the courageous spirit of "living on the rocks to fight the enemy, dying and turning into immortal stone".

Leaders of Ha Giang province performed the burial ceremony for heroic martyrs at Vi Xuyen Martyrs Cemetery.

More than 4,000 officers and soldiers have heroically sacrificed their lives and remained in the northernmost land of the Fatherland. The war has ended, but the ethnic people of Ha Giang province have never forgotten the losses and pains caused by the war. Therefore, the province pays special attention to and performs well the work of gratitude, clearing bombs and mines, searching for and collecting martyrs' remains.
