The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued regulations on the management and exploitation of West Lake. According to the regulations, Tay Ho district is the focal point for comprehensive management, coordinating with the city's departments and branches to carry out management and exploitation tasks.
Specifically, Hanoi City allows: Business of golf courses on the water surface of West Lake, services related to transporting tourists by water means (boats, canoes, jet skis, water bicycles...) without overnight accommodation;
Organizing cultural, sports , tourism and performing arts services at West Lake; organizing traditional festivals, boat races; water music performances; hot air balloons; paragliding.
Other activities are also allowed such as swimming, diving; boating, canoeing, water biking, windsurfing; electric tire cars, bicycles, tourist cyclos on the walking routes around West Lake...
Along with the above business, Hanoi City requires relevant units to manage the environment of West Lake, including wastewater, water in the lake and water level, lake surface sanitation...
In previous years, West Lake had some services such as floating houses, yachts, and pedal boats. By 2017, Hanoi will stop providing services, culture, sports, tourism, entertainment, and aquaculture of enterprises within the management scope of West Lake.
