Hanoi: Removing obstacles in the activities of the Women's Union at the commune level

This is the first meeting of the City Women's Union with the leaders of the new commune and ward Women's Unions and is also the first meeting chaired by the Women's Working Committee.

According to Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union Pham Thi Thanh Huong, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Union has overcome many difficulties and challenges to complete a large amount of work for the organization; especially focusing on guiding and directing the arrangement of the organization of the Union at all levels according to the two-level local government model.

After reorganizing the apparatus, the City Women's Union focused on guiding the activities of the Women's Unions of 126 communes and wards; providing documents to serve the direction and implementation of activities for the Women's Unions of communes and wards; orienting key activities; regularly monitoring the situation, supporting step by step the removal of difficulties and obstacles when operating the Union organization model in new conditions.

The Women's Unions of 126 communes and wards quickly got to work; organized environmental sanitation activities, participated in guiding people to perform online public services; continued to carry out regular programs, such as: "Godmother", "Accompanying children"; sponsored orphans; gave gifts to disabled women and disadvantaged children; supported the construction and handover of charity homes.

At the conference, the Women's Unions of communes and wards raised difficulties and problems in operating mechanisms and finance; difficulties in organizing concentrated activities when the new area is far from the center; unstable facilities, equipment is lacking and degraded in some places, difficulties in applying information technology, digital transformation...

The Women's Unions of communes and wards also proposed a number of contents on the personnel of the commune-level Women's Union vice president when organizing congresses; regulations on management and use of association funds, trust fees; and annual regular operating expenses.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh affirmed that she will continue to find solutions to remove difficulties, accompany the Women's Unions of communes and wards to innovate the content and methods of operation, suitable to the new model and requirements of the new period, thereby affirming the role of the Union organization in the political system, contributing to the development of the capital and the country in the new era.
