Thanh Nua women compete to do business and develop sustainable communities

Women in Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien province unite, create, compete in economic activities, contributing to increasing income and stabilizing life.

During the past term, the Women's Union of Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien province has effectively implemented many emulation movements and economic development activities, creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of cadres and members. The movements have contributed significantly to socio-economic development, income increase and new rural construction in the locality.

Right from the beginning of the term, the Association organized for cadres and members to study and register to implement the movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" associated with the criteria "Dien Bien women are friendly, creative, aspirational, and developed", at the same time launching the movement "Women help each other to do good business, develop a green and sustainable economy", promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.

Up to now, 73/73 branches have implemented emulation movements associated with the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean". Many practical models have been maintained such as: improving knowledge, training health, cultivating ethics, attracting a large number of members to participate. Ms. Le Thi Nga, President of the Women's Union of Thanh Nua commune, said: The emulation movement is an important driving force to promote the spirit of solidarity and creativity of members. Each model is associated with practical needs, helping women to develop the economy, build happy families, and contribute to making the new countryside green, clean, and beautiful.

Responding to the emulation movement "Each rural household has a clean vegetable garden, raising livestock and poultry", the Association has mobilized over 90% of member households to participate. Many families, thanks to applying the model of raising chickens, pigs, fish and developing Thai ethnic homestays, have achieved an income of 80-150 million VND/year, becoming a bright spot in the movement "Women doing good business" of the commune. In parallel, the commune organized more than 140 environmental sanitation sessions, maintained 15 models of "Green, clean, beautiful village roads", planted Bauhinia flowers along the roads, contributing to improving the landscape and improving the quality of life.

Promoting local advantages, the Association also combines emulation movements with community tourism development and promotion of OCOP products, cuisine , and traditional crafts. These activities both create jobs and preserve cultural identity. In addition, the Association focuses on propaganda and raising awareness for women through the models of "Trusted Address in the Community", "Community Media Team" and "Leader of Change Club", contributing to reducing domestic violence, early marriage and incestuous marriage.

Ms. Vu Dao My, Vice President of the Women's Union of Dien Bien province, commented: Thanh Nua commune is one of the units with many good models and creative ways of doing things. The Union has linked the emulation movement with green economic development, building a safe living environment, and at the same time preserving the national cultural identity. This is a suitable direction, contributing to the effective implementation of new rural criteria.

With the achieved results, Thanh Nua Commune Women's Union continues to affirm its core role in the women's movement, contributing to the construction of new rural areas, developing green economy and aiming at the goal of sustainable development, for the happiness and progress of local women.
