Ha Tinh successfully controlled the first dengue fever outbreak in 2025

(Baohatinh.vn) - Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the dengue fever outbreak in Hai Thanh village, Song Tri ward (Ha Tinh) has been controlled after 14 days without new patients.

On July 16, the health sector detected the first dengue fever outbreak in 2025 in Hai Thanh village, Song Tri ward with a total of 5 patients testing positive for dengue fever.

Immediately after detecting the outbreak, the Provincial Center for Disease Control and the Hoanh Son Medical Center coordinated with commune and village-level departments to clean up the environment, overturn water containers, collect waste, clear sewers, and spray chemicals for 68 households in Hai Thanh village.

The leaders of the Provincial Center for Disease Control directly supervise and direct epidemic prevention and control work.

At the same time, communication activities were carried out for people to take measures to prevent the epidemic, instructing people to go to medical facilities for examination and treatment when they have signs of high fever, aches and pains. Monitoring of households in Hai Thanh village within a 200m radius around the patient's house and monitoring of vector indexes were focused on.

Thanks to the drastic participation of the health sector and local authorities in prevention work, the dengue fever outbreak was controlled after 14 days, with no new patients arising.

Master Nguyen Chi Thanh - Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control said: "It is forecasted that in the coming time, dengue fever epidemic may develop complicatedly due to favorable weather conditions for disease-carrying mosquitoes to arise and develop. Therefore, it is recommended that Party committees, authorities, departments and organizations continue to strengthen epidemic prevention and control work. Medical stations need to closely monitor the situation, promptly report suspected cases to quickly localize and thoroughly handle the outbreak. People need to proactively clean the environment, kill mosquito larvae and sleep under mosquito nets to effectively prevent the disease."
