The 16-year-old goalkeeper has trained at the training centers of teams playing in the Thai League such as Suphanburi, Bangkok Glass (now BG Pathum United), Nonthaburi United, or Paris Saint-Germain Academy Thailand. Chaloongphum Phong has won many youth awards. He has also shown his potential with a good height (1.87 m) and an ideal arm span.

Chaloongphum Phong’s strength also lies in his communication skills. According to HAGL, the 16-year-old goalkeeper can speak three languages: Vietnamese, English and Thai. This is the bridge that helps Chaloongphum Phong quickly integrate into the new team.

The young goalkeeper from Thailand signed a contract with both HAGL and the HAGL Football Academy. Most likely, he will practice with the academy members, training to wait for the day to debut in the V-League.

Young stars of HAGL

Along with Tran Trung Kien (born in 2003, 1.9 m tall), HAGL has two young goalkeepers with ideal height.

Rejuvenation is also the path that technical director Vu Tien Thanh has chosen for the mountain town team. Many young talents such as Trung Kien, Pham Ly Duc (2003), Tran Gia Bao (2008) or Dinh Quang Kiet (2007) have all had the opportunity to try their hand at the V-League.

Besides, there are also Nguyen Minh Tam (2005), Moi Se (2005) and Hoang Minh Tien (2005) who were promoted to the first team by Mr. Vu Tien Thanh in the second leg. In total, HAGL has 9 U.22 players, the youngest of which is Gia Bao (17 years old).

After 17 matches, HAGL has 21 points, 8 points ahead of Binh Dinh in the play-off position. The 4-0 victory over Binh Duong in the previous round helped coach Le Quang Trai and his team break the streak of draws and losses. HAGL's goal is to quickly secure a place in the league.
