Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club (HAGL) sent a request to replace players to VPF. Specifically, the mountain town team said goodbye to two strikers Martin Dzilah and Jhon Cley.
Martin Dzilah was disappointing when he did not score any goals. He played 3 matches before retiring from round 4 of V.League due to injury. Meanwhile, Jhon Cley - the top scorer of V.League 2023 - did not leave much of an impression. This player only scored 1 goal in 8 matches for HAGL.
The two players registered as replacements are central defender Gabriel Dias and striker Joao Veras. Both players are Brazilian nationals.
HAGL says goodbye to Jhon Cley (blue shirt).
Gabriel Dias was born in 1997 and played 14 matches for Athletic Club in Serie D (Brazil). Dias also had a trial with Hanoi Police Club but was not signed.
Joao Veras was born in 2000 and started his career at XV de Piracicaba (Brazil) before moving to Ponte Preta (Portugal). In 42 matches for Ponte Preta, he scored 6 goals.
Center back Jairo Rodrigues is still retained by HAGL. He received the most positive evaluation among HAGL's 3 foreign players in the recent period. This player is active in defense and very willing to participate in attacks. He scored 1 goal in the 1-1 draw with Hai Phong Club.
HAGL Club can still register 3 more players. The team informed that they are contacting some players on the payroll of Hanoi Police Club. The mid-season transfer period lasts from February 25 to March 23.
HAGL is forced to strengthen its squad in the context of the team's poor performance, when it is at the bottom of the rankings with 6 points. The gap with the teams above is not large. A win can also change the situation.
However, new coach Vu Tien Thanh has not won any match since replacing coach Kiatisak. The team lost 0-1 to Ha Tinh Club and drew 0-0 with Quang Nam. In round 11, HAGL will visit Khanh Hoa Club - the team that is right above HAGL with 1 point more.
