
As the UK and world 's leading surgical and dental training, assessment and accreditation body, RCS was founded over two centuries ago to promote advances in surgery, training and patient care.
Recognized worldwide, RCS membership is the highest professional achievement for surgeons. Honorary RCS membership is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to surgery and medicine.
Ms. Katrin Kandel, CEO of volunteer organization Facing The World (FTW), which connects Vietnamese hospitals and doctors with RCS, said the award recognizes the outstanding leadership, surgical skills and commitment of the two Vietnamese doctors to improving healthcare in the field of craniofacial plastic surgery. She emphasized that the recognition of the expertise of the Vietnamese doctors is an important milestone in the Vietnam-UK cooperation in the field of surgery and humanitarian care.

Ms. Katrin Kandel also expressed special thanks to Mr. Tim Mitchell, Chairman of RCS, for his support of FTW, which helps promote relations between Vietnamese and British medical facilities in surgical training and international cooperation.
Sharing with VNA reporters, Dr. Do Thi Ngoc Linh expressed her honor to receive the RCS membership certificate. Dr. Do Thi Ngoc Linh said that receiving the certificate is an opportunity for her to continue learning, improving her skills and contributing more to patients and the craniofacial and plastic surgery profession in Vietnam.
Dr. Linh emphasized that the fact that Vietnamese doctors are granted RCS membership certificates affirms that Vietnam's surgical expertise has reached international standards, helping to improve the quality of treatment in the country, expand academic-research cooperation with the world's leading medical centers and strongly inspire the young generation of doctors to continue to strive to conquer higher professional standards.
Dr. Linh expressed his gratitude to the teachers, colleagues and council at RCS, as well as FTW's support for Vietnamese doctors in professional training, academic exchanges, funding medical equipment and connecting Vietnam with the world's leading medical centers.

Dr. Linh said that the valuable and persistent support of FTW over the years has helped to raise the level of expertise, open up many opportunities and create a foundation for the specialty of Craniofacial Plastic Surgery in particular and Vietnamese medicine in general to integrate more deeply with world medicine.
FTW is a medical charity founded in the UK in 2002 to support the treatment of children with craniofacial defects in developing countries. Operating in Vietnam since 2007, FTW has supported surgery for thousands of children with craniofacial defects across Vietnam and sent more than 100 Vietnamese doctors to study at leading medical facilities in the UK, Canada, the US and Australia. The organization also donated more than £2.5 million (US$3.35 million) in surgical equipment and telemedicine technology to three partner hospitals in Vietnam, including Hospital 108, Viet Duc Hospital and Hong Ngoc Hospital.
