Vietnamese and Chinese Defense Ministers pound rice cakes with people in border areas

The two Ministers spent time enjoying local specialties and interacting with the people. The two Ministers also visited some households in the village, learning about the daily life, production work and cultural customs of the people. Together with the people, General Phan Van Giang and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Quan experienced pounding sticky rice cakes and playing traditional musical instruments.

This afternoon, a farewell ceremony for General Phan Van Giang was held at the Friendship Pass of China, successfully concluding the activities within the framework of the Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange. A large number of Chinese people in the border area attended the farewell ceremony for the delegation.

Tomorrow, General Phan Van Giang will preside over the official welcoming ceremony for Senior Lieutenant General Dong Quan and the delegation of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense to attend exchange activities in Lang Son province.

Also this afternoon, General Phan Van Giang worked with the Standing Committee of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee.

The General requested the Standing Committee of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee to continue to lead and direct the effective implementation of the Central Committee's resolutions and conclusions on Party building and rectification, and the province to continue to care for the building and training of cadres, especially leaders, managers, young cadres, female cadres, and ethnic minority cadres...

In addition, it is necessary to well implement the democratic regulations at the grassroots level, maintain discipline; strengthen the strength of the great national unity bloc, and consolidate the solid position of people's hearts.

The Minister noted that the province needs to promote the strengths of the border gate economy, so that the border gate economy can truly be the driving force for growth and economic restructuring of the province; accelerate the implementation of the agricultural restructuring program associated with new rural construction, linking agricultural and rural development with ensuring national defense, security, social security, building a solid "people's heart position"...

Lang Son needs to do better in foreign affairs and people's diplomacy, build a border area of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and sustainable development; and not let hostile forces take advantage of and incite divisions in Vietnam-China relations.
