Two luxury superyachts bring 3,100 international tourists to Quang Ninh

(NLDO)- Two luxury super yachts, Westerdam and Star Voyager, arrived at the heritage site of Quang Ninh at the same time, carrying more than 3,100 passengers.

On November 11, Ha Long International Passenger Port ( Quang Ninh province) consecutively welcomed two luxury super yachts Westerdam (Dutch nationality) and Star Voyager (Bahamian nationality), carrying more than 3,100 passengers and crew to the heritage site of Quang Ninh. Of which, the Westerdam carried more than 1,900 passengers and the Star Voyager carried 1,200 passengers.

Immediately after docking, Westerdam cruise ship passengers visited famous attractions such as Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu, and Ha Long city tour. The group also traveled to Hanoi and Vinh Bao (Hai Phong) to explore cultural and historical destinations typical of the Northern Delta.

The two cruise ships Westerdam and Star Voyager are both "regular guests" of Ha Long International Passenger Port. In 2025, Star Voyager made its fourth port call, while Westerdam marked its first port call of the year, after two port calls in 2024.

By the end of October 2025, Ha Long International Passenger Port had welcomed 44 international cruise ships, with a total of 56,647 passengers, up 9% over the same period last year. Tourists mainly came from Europe, the US and China, reflecting the strong recovery of the luxury tourism segment.

Representatives of Ha Long International Passenger Port shared that the peak season for cruise tourism lasts from October to April every year, when tourists enjoy long journeys to many destinations.

With its convenient location and modern infrastructure, Ha Long International Passenger Port is becoming one of the most popular ports of call for the world's leading shipping lines.

It is expected that in November 2025, the port will receive 10 international cruises and by the end of the year, the total number of cruises arriving at the port will increase to 23, carrying about 32,000 passengers, bringing the total number of international cruise passengers in 2025 to nearly 90,000. This is a record number, affirming the central role of Quang Ninh in the national cruise tourism development strategy.

We will continue to cooperate closely with international shipping lines and travel partners to expand cruise routes, diversify products and bring authentic Vietnamese experiences to every tourist coming to Ha Long."

Since officially coming into operation in 2018, Ha Long International Passenger Port has welcomed 209 luxury cruise ships, serving nearly 280,000 international visitors, contributing to raising the position of Vietnam's cruise tourism on the world map. The port is always ready to welcome international cruise ships, regularly inspecting and reviewing wharves, fire prevention and fighting equipment, landscape decoration, arranging convenient locations for visitors to access more service products such as: Double-decker buses, electric cars to transport visitors to Ha Long City. At the same time, the port also supports cruise travel agencies to connect fleets serving visitors to Ha Long Bay and Ha Long Bay Management Board to create the most convenient and safest for visitors when using service products at the port.
