Two fishing boats of a family in Quang Ngai suddenly caught fire at night.

At 3:15 a.m. on October 14, at the Cay Bang anchorage area (near Binh Dong bridge), in Tan Hy 1 village, Binh Dong commune (Binh Son), a fire broke out in 2 fishing boats of local people.

Specifically, fishing boat number QNg 97206 TS was anchored at Cay Bang anchorage area when it suddenly caught fire.

The fire then spread to the fishing boat with registration number QNg 90997 TS. Both boats are owned by Mr. Huynh Phi Ho and Ms. Le Thi Trieu (residents of Binh Dong commune).

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department (PCCC) and Rescue and Search and Rescue (CNCH) mobilized 34 officers and soldiers, dispatched 3 fire trucks, 2 tankers to the scene to coordinate with other forces (Binh Son District Police, Binh Dong Commune Police, Binh Thanh Border Guard Station...) and local people to participate in fire fighting and property rescue.

Because the fire broke out at dawn, the wind was strong, and the ship was 100 meters from shore, firefighting and property rescue were difficult.

The road leading to the fire site was narrow, and fire trucks could not reach it. The authorities had to carry two float pumps and other firefighting equipment by hand and walk more than 500m deep.

Here, the rescue team used boats and canoes from local people to fight the fire and prevent it from spreading.

By 5:15 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished. Authorities were able to save more than 70% of the fishing boat QNg 97206 TS and prevent the fire from spreading to dozens of fishing boats anchored nearby.

Ms. Trieu cried when her property burned down.

The fishing boat with registration number QNg 97206 TS, 20m long, 450CV capacity, was bought from a citizen in Nghia An commune ( Quang Ngai city) and brought to anchor at the wharf yesterday afternoon (October 13). The fishing boat with registration number QNg 90997 TS, 18.5m long, 730CV capacity, was burned and half-submerged in the water.

Ms. Le Thi Trieu cried when she saw the fire. All the family's hard work was now gone. It is known that the family has 2 children, the older one is in 9th grade, the younger one is in 1st grade.

It is known that the two fishing boats worth more than 3 billion VND were purchased by Mr. Ho's family from relatives and the bank.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.
