Two expressways through Binh Dinh and Phu Yen expected to 'finish' on August 19

Mr. Pham Van Minh, Director of Project Management Board 85 (investor) informed that the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway has completed more than 72% of the contract, and the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway has reached more than 74% of the contract value. The construction volume of some main items such as roadbed excavation, K95 embankment, K98 embankment, crushed stone grading... are all on schedule.

Construction volume meets schedule

From now until the technical opening date (August 19), the construction value of the two sections must reach 4,000 billion VND, with an average daily construction volume of 45 - 50 billion VND. It is expected that on August 19, a total of 108km of these two sections will be opened to traffic. Committee 85 is focusing on directing contractors to urgently complete construction to meet the schedule.

Regarding the rest stops on the two expressways, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said that there are two expressway rest stops in Binh Dinh. Of which, the rest stop in Phu My district has completed payment and handed over the clean site to the investor for the contractor to construct.

As for the rest stop in Hoai Nhon town, the locality has approved all compensation and site clearance support plans with a total cost of more than 12 billion VND. However, the investor has not transferred the money, and the People's Committee of Hoai Nhon town has not been able to pay the money to related organizations and individuals according to the plan approved by the competent authority.

In order to hand over the site soon, Binh Dinh province has sent a document requesting the Ministry of Construction to direct Project Management Board 2, the investor being the joint venture of Vietnam National Petroleum Group - Thua Thien - Hue Petroleum Company, to urgently transfer enough money to the People's Committee of Hoai Nhon town for payment. Regarding this issue, Project Management Board 2 said that it will urge the investor to promptly pay according to regulations.

Restore local roads after construction is completed

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung assessed that both expressway projects have received support from the local authorities for the land clearance and the material mines are ready. The remaining task is for the investor to urge the contractor to urgently construct and put the two projects into technical traffic before August 19, meeting the expectations of the leaders and people of the project areas and the socio -economic development.

Regarding the proposal of the leader of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee regarding road restoration, Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung requested the investor to commit to restoring the original condition of the roads borrowed from the locality and the damaged sections of the road during the project implementation before the project is completed, ensuring safety for people traveling.

The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway is more than 70km long, passing through Binh Dinh province with a total investment of more than 12,400 billion VND.

Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway is 61.7km long, passing through Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces with a total investment of more than 14,800 billion VND.
