Russian Navy Pacific Fleet trains with Vietnamese Navy

A force of 262 people from the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy will participate in joint training with the Vietnamese Navy in Da Nang City.

On May 10, a fleet of ships from the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy docked at Tien Sa Port (Da Nang City), beginning a friendly visit to Da Nang City to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

The flotilla includes the corvette Rezkii, the corvette Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Cidengapov and the medium tanker Pechenga. The visit will last from May 10 to 14.

In total, there were 262 officers, sailors and service personnel, commanded by Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich.

During their stay in Da Nang City, the delegation will lay wreaths at the Da Nang Martyrs Memorial and pay courtesy visits to the leaders of the City People's Committee, the Naval Region 3 Command, and the Military Region 5 Command. At the same time, the delegation will visit and have cultural exchanges with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3. In particular, the two sides will conduct joint training at sea.

This visit is of great significance, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and mutual trust between Vietnam and the Russian Federation; at the same time affirming the positive role and image of Da Nang in the international arena.

The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations (1950-2025). This relationship was upgraded to a strategic partnership in 2001 and a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2012.

With the support of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, the cooperative relationship between Da Nang City and Russian localities is increasingly expanding, opening up many new opportunities in the fields of economy, culture, education and people-to-people exchange.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City affirmed that it is always ready to act as a bridge, creating conditions for the two sides' naval forces to continue expanding cooperation, training, and sharing experiences to contribute to ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation at sea.
