On December 1, the People's Committee of Tra Don commune (Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam ) said that it had just inspected the scene of a landslide caused by an earthquake that caused dozens of rocks to roll down to Tu Hon village (village 3, Tra Don commune).

Previously, on the afternoon and evening of November 30, 6 consecutive earthquakes occurred in Kon Plong district (Kon Tum). Of these, the first 3 earthquakes had magnitudes of 4, 3.8 and 3.4 on the Richter scale, respectively; the following 3 earthquakes were smaller.

Because Nam Tra My district is adjacent to Kon Plong district, it was affected by aftershocks. Many people here said that they clearly felt 3-4 very strong tremors, especially the first 2 earthquakes; some people were so scared that they ran out of their houses.

Notably, in Tu Hon village (village 3, Tra Don commune), the earthquake caused a landslide with many very large rocks rolling from the top of Ngoc Mong mountain to an area about 30 - 50m from people's houses.

At the scene, some very large rocks were lying precariously or stuck in some tree roots, at risk of continuing to roll down, endangering 17 households with 69 people and the kindergarten in Tu Hon village.

Receiving the news from the People's Committee of Tra Don commune, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nam Tra My district directed the force to urgently evacuate households from the dangerous area to avoid being hit by falling rocks, and at the same time develop a plan to handle the landslide incident.
