Counterfeit goods 'withdraw', genuine goods take the throne

Faced with the strong intervention of authorities to deal with counterfeit goods, pirated goods, copyright infringement and commercial fraud, many stores have closed to “avoid” inspection. However, in this context, the points of sale of products owned by cooperatives in the province are still operating stably thanks to guaranteed quality and clear origin.

Recently, a series of cases of trading in counterfeit, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, without invoices and documents... have been detected and severely handled by authorities across the country. In response to the above move, according to our observations on some streets and central markets in Thai Nguyen City, many stores from food to clothing and footwear, which were previously always bustling with customers, have suddenly become quiet. Many stores have closed their doors, creating a completely different atmosphere than before.

In contrast to the gloomy atmosphere, stores selling products produced by cooperatives in and outside the province are still regularly lit up and welcoming customers as usual. At the agricultural products store of Phu Loc Cooperative, in Phan Dinh Phung Ward (Thai Nguyen City), the buying and selling atmosphere is normal. Each product is neatly displayed, with traceability stamps, manufacturer's name, QR code, etc.

Ms. Le Thi Quynh Trang, Director of Phu Loc Cooperative : Currently, our store is supplying about 200 agricultural products from cooperatives in and outside the province. All products are certified VietGAP, organic, OCOP or are typical agricultural products. Each shipment has full invoices and documents proving origin and quality.

Another highlight is the Thai Nguyen Province Agricultural Products Display, Introduction and Consumption Store, also in Phan Dinh Phung Ward, which is becoming a trusted destination for consumers. It gathers hundreds of agricultural products from 9 districts and cities in the province, such as: green vegetables, rice, vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, etc. All are beautifully packaged, have full labels, QR codes for traceability of origin and OCOP stamps or quality certificates.

Currently, each month, Phu Loc Cooperative's business stores supply the market with an average quantity of about 500 products.

Mr. Vu Tien Sy, in Chua Hang Ward (Thai Nguyen City), a regular customer of the Provincial Agricultural Products Display, Introduction and Consumption Store, said: Every weekend I visit the store to buy food such as rice, noodles, vermicelli and green vegetables. What makes me trust is that all products have clear origins, full labels, and traceable manufacturer information. Compared to the market, the price may be a little higher, but in return, it is peace of mind for the health of the family.

The transparency of the origin and quality of each product helps us feel confident in our business.

Not only the two stores mentioned above, there are currently dozens of stores in the province specializing in providing products from cooperatives inside and outside the province. These products are all produced according to processes, strictly complying with quality standards and legal regulations, from production to consumption. Thanks to that, in times of market fluctuations, the stores not only stand firm but also affirm their reputation, creating sustainable trust among consumers.

Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong, Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union, said: We always determine that product transparency will be the way to survive for cooperatives producing and trading agricultural products. Therefore, in recent times, we have always focused on training and guiding cooperatives to produce responsibly, comply with the law and build brands based on real quality.

To date, there are more than 14,600 products nationwide that meet OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher. Thai Nguyen province alone has 315 OCOP products ranked from 3 to 5 stars, of which 4 products are recognized as achieving 5 stars at the national level.
