The photo exhibition "Hanoi Moi Newspaper with the Capital on the Development Path" deeply marks the contributions of the Capital Party's journalists, demonstrating their role as companions with Hanoi through each historical period.

In the proud atmosphere of the whole country's press team competing to make practical achievements to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, with the consent of the Hanoi Party Committee, on the morning of June 17, Hanoi Moi Newspaper organized a photo exhibition with the theme "Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Capital on the path of development" at the newspaper's editorial office (44 Le Thai To, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).

Attending the opening ceremony were Central Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy; Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Vu Ha; Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Mai Huong; Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association Kieu Thanh Hung.

As the agency of the Hanoi Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital, Hanoi Moi Newspaper always makes important contributions to the overall achievements of the Capital, recognized by the Central Government and the City.

For nearly 68 years, since the publication of the first daily issue (October 24, 1957), the newspaper has always maintained its principles and purposes, closely followed reality, actively propagated the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws as well as those of the Party Committee and the Capital City's government. The works and activities of the Hanoi Moi newspaper have contributed to motivating and encouraging the entire people in the past struggles for independence and freedom and in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.

Journalist Nguyen Minh Duc, Party Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, affirmed that the Newspaper has done a good job of propaganda and dissemination, aiming to raise awareness, build trust and social consensus in implementing Party resolutions, policies, plans and major decisions of the Central and the city; encouraging cadres, party members and people to actively carry out the political tasks of the city and the country.

Hanoi Moi Newspaper is also a pioneer in propagating and protecting the Party's ideological foundation, proactively fighting against wrong views, doing a good job of orienting public opinion, contributing an important voice in carrying out the political tasks of the Capital and the country, increasingly enhancing the position of the Capital's Party newspaper.

In particular, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has established a methodical and in-depth approach, creating a widespread social effect in propagating the revolution of streamlining the apparatus, the major viewpoints of the Party and General Secretary To Lam on the "new era - the era of national growth".

“The photo exhibition with the theme “Hanoi Moi Newspaper with the Capital on the Road to Development” was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day to clearly demonstrate the determination of the Party journalists of the Capital in inheriting and promoting the glorious tradition of revolutionary journalism, while strongly transforming themselves to excellently complete the assigned political tasks, meeting the development requirements of the Capital and the whole country in the new era of the nation - forever worthy of being the Heroic Newspaper of the Heroic Capital”, the Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper affirmed.

The photo exhibition “Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Capital on the Road to Development” includes two main themes, the first of which takes readers and visitors back to important milestones of Hanoi and the whole country through special newspaper covers.

That is the cover of the Capital Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Hanoi Party Committee, which launched its first daily issue - October 24, 1957; the covers of the Thoi Moi newspapers before merging with the Capital Newspaper and being honored by Uncle Ho as the Hanoi Moi Newspaper (January 25, 1968)...

Viewers will also see the newspaper covers of April 30, 1975 and May 1, 1975 with news about the capital and the whole country joyfully welcoming the liberation of the South and the complete reunification of the country. Highlights in this theme cluster are also the newspaper covers of Hanoi Moi Newspaper promoting the 17th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee.

The exhibition also brings the covers of Ha Tay newspapers before they came to the common home of Hanoi Moi Newspaper; the cover of Hanoi Moi newspaper published on August 1, 2008 when Hanoi and Ha Tay officially merged. Many newspaper covers promoting the event of 1,000 years of Thang Long - Hanoi, Tet newspaper covers, special newspaper covers... also appear solemnly, meaningfully, evoking historical marks.

The commitment behind the frames

Not only featuring newspaper covers, the exhibition “Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Capital on the Road to Development” also shows images of the Capital and the country through the lens of Hanoi Moi reporters and close collaborators.

Among them, there are outstanding photos recording the economic, social, cultural activities of the Capital on the path of innovation, such as: "Hoan Kiem Lake, a sacred land of talented people", "Hanoi is increasingly developing in civilization and modernity", "Thang Long Avenue" (photo by Quang Thai); "Fireworks by Hoan Kiem Lake" (photo by Viet Thanh)...

In particular, the exhibition also includes images of professional activities and social work of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, and the attention of Party, State and city leaders to journalists in the capital.

Some traditional sports activities organized by Hanoi Moi Newspaper such as the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Open Running Race - For Peace; Table Tennis Tournament for the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Cup; or online discussions, press forums organized by the Newspaper; activities to receive support for people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi... are also introduced at the exhibition.

The most touching photos are those of Hanoi Moi reporters working at their bases, locations and important events, such as the photos of Hanoi Moi reporters working at Truong Sa archipelago, in areas affected by storms and floods... Behind the frames are the passion and dedication of the Capital Party journalists to bring hot, authentic and meaningful articles and images.

The highlight of the exhibition is also the Hanoi Moi newspaper stall model with daily publications of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Hanoi Moi Weekend Newspaper, Hanoi Today Newspaper and the special issue of Hanoi Moi Newspaper commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. This quickly became a favorite check-in spot for locals and tourists.

Visiting the photo exhibition, Mr. Vu Kim Hanh (70 years old, living on Tong Dan Street, Hoan Kiem District) shared: “I was very moved to see the covers of Hanoi Moi newspaper from decades ago, when the printing paper and ink were still simple, but the information and photos on them evoked many impressions of the capital and the country. Through the exhibition, I felt the daily changes of the capital and the very clear accompanying role of Hanoi Moi newspaper in that flow”.

Young person Nguyen Thuy Linh (student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) expressed: “Hanoi Moi Newspaper is a famous check-in place that my friends and I love. This time, I was even more impressed when I visited the Newspaper's exhibition. The photos taken by Hanoi Moi Newspaper reporters showed me a very different Hanoi, both ancient and dynamically developing. I also really like the way the old newspaper cover photos are displayed, helping the younger generation better understand the journey of journalism and the role of journalism in the development of the Capital.”

Meaningful images marking the contributions of Hanoi Moi journalists on each stage of the capital's development are displayed in front of the newspaper's headquarters, reflecting on Hoan Kiem Lake, a meaningful meeting place for journalists, readers and the public of Hanoi, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press.
