The 12th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament 2025: Young athletes show their strength

The highlight of the matches on the evening of November 7 was the confrontation in the advanced men's team category between the Hai Phong youth team and the T&T 1 People's Police Club. This was a match between the young players of the two teams, so they were quite evenly matched in terms of skills. The matches were tense and fierce because this was the battle for second place in the group - a ticket to round 2.

This year is the first time the men's team event will be played in the new Olympic format (1 doubles match, 4 singles matches), so the difficulty level has been increased. The highlight of the matches on the evening of November 7 is the advanced men's team match between the T&T 1 People's Police Club and the Hai Phong Youth Club. Notably, the T&T 1 People's Police Club has a potential young player, young tennis player Phan Huy Tien (son of former player Phan Huy Hoang). Meanwhile, the Hai Phong Youth Club also has talented tennis player Bui Trong Hien. The two teams competed on equal footing with many fierce moves. In the end, the Hai Phong Youth Club won 3-1 against the T&T 1 People's Police Club.

In the amateur men's team match between Sao Bien Hai Duong 1 Club and Ha Noi 1 Club, all the players were from the youth team. The matches had close scores (1-3, 3-2, 3-2, 1-3, 1-3) and lasted for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Finally, thanks to the excellent performance of Vinh (Ha Noi 1) over Khang (Sao Bien Hai Duong 1), Ha Noi 1 Club won the final score of 3-2.

Tomorrow morning (November 8), the 12th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament 2025 continues with the second round matches of advanced team and amateur team; men's singles under 45, men's doubles over 45, women's singles over 45, women's singles under 45.
