The Ho Chi Minh City - Bali route plays a strategic role in Vietnam Airlines' international flight network.

Flight VN641 with 161 passengers, operated by Airbus A321, departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 10:25 a.m. on June 1 and landed at Ngurah Rai-Denpasar International Airport at 3:00 p.m. the same day.

On the occasion of the opening of the new route, Vietnam Airlines organized welcoming activities at both airports and gave souvenirs to passengers on the first flight.

According to the plan, in the first phase, Vietnam Airlines will operate this route with a frequency of 4 round trips/week, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. From July 2025, the frequency is expected to be increased to 7 flights/week to meet increasing market demand.

The launch of the Ho Chi Minh City - Bali direct route not only helps Vietnam Airlines expand its flight network in Southeast Asia, but also contributes to effectively exploiting the potential of the passenger market between Vietnam and Indonesia - which is recovering strongly after the Covid 19 pandemic.

Besides serving Vietnamese tourists to Bali, the Ho Chi Minh City-Bali route also plays a strategic role in Vietnam Airlines' international flight network.

With convenient operating hours, this route helps to flexibly connect with flights from Europe, Northeast Asia, India and the US, etc., contributing to expanding connectivity, diversifying international passenger travel itineraries and improving the efficiency of Vietnam Airlines' inter-regional flight network.

In particular, the opening event took place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia. This is not only a step forward in aviation and tourism but also has important diplomatic significance in the context of the two countries strongly promoting trade, investment and cultural exchange cooperation.

Previously, Vietjet Air also launched a new international route connecting Singapore with Phu Quoc, and two domestic routes Da Nang-Nha Trang and Hanoi-Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen). The Singapore-Phu Quoc route opened on May 30 with four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, offering passengers the opportunity to conveniently explore two prominent destinations.
