After more than 3 weeks since its launch, the FPTU AI & Robotics Challenge 2025 (FARC 2025) has closed its registration phase with a total of 800 registered teams, of which 636 teams met the organizers' criteria and were eligible to participate in the official competition.
These 636 teams come from 59 provinces/cities nationwide. The localities with the largest number of participating teams include Hanoi (97 teams), Ho Chi Minh City (71 teams), Dong Nai (31 teams), etc., demonstrating the widespread and equitable distribution of opportunities to access technology across regions.
These figures not only demonstrate the strong appeal of a technology playground for high school students, but also affirm the creative spirit and growing interest of Vietnamese youth in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Quan - Director of Admissions atFPT University, FPT Group, and Head of the Organizing Committee - said that the number of registered teams exceeded initial expectations. He shared: “These numbers reflect the interest of students and high schools in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics. FPTU AI & Robotics is not just a simple technology playground, but also part of FPT University's long-term goal to spread the spirit of learning in the STEAM field in general education.”

Not only did FARC 2025 attract a large number of participants, but it also saw the participation of many "veteran" teams who had previously competed and achieved high results in technology competitions both domestically and internationally. Among them, the Rise and Shine team from Hai Ba Trung High School - Thach That (Hanoi) won the Vietnam Robotics Challenge 2023, and received awards for Most Popular Robot and Most Impressive Design at the Vietnam STEM Robotics Championship 2023. Notably, Rise and Shine won the 1st Place Inspire Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Vietnam and became Vietnam's representative to compete at the FIRST Championship 2025 in the USA from April 15-19, 2025.
The M2F Team from Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted ( Vinh Long ) won third prize at the Vietnam Open Robotics Challenge 2023 and the Best Connection award at the Vietnam Open Robotics Challenge 2024.

The participation of these experienced teams not only enhances the professional quality but also creates a special appeal for FARC 2025, promising thrilling intellectual battles, groundbreaking ideas, and an inspiring competitive spirit among young talents from across the country.
Contestant Nguyen Tan Phuc (M2F Team, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted) shared: “Through this competition, my teammates and I will be able to challenge ourselves and learn from other teams nationwide. Besides that, I want to hone skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and idea presentation. Participating in a major competition like FARC 2025 is a motivation for our team to delve deeper into our favorite field of technology.”
From May 5th to 14th and June 3rd to 7th, participating teams will undergo intensive online training in AI and robotics, preparing them with the necessary foundational knowledge before competing. This includes one session introducing the rules, competition format, and scoring system; three sessions on AI to help teams understand the basics of artificial intelligence, how to use PartyRock – the tool used directly in the competition – and practice perfecting their AI applications; and five sessions on robotics to help students understand the fundamentals of robotics, its applications in life, answer any questions about the competition challenge, practice some of the steps in the challenge, learn from real-world robot building experiences, and explore how to establish a robotics club at their high school.
FARC 2025 will consist of three main rounds: AI Programming Competition (May 31st and June 1st); Regional Robotics Competition (June 16th - July 10th); and the National Finals (August 2nd - 3rd). The scoring criteria are designed to comprehensively assess the capabilities of the participating teams, ensuring fairness and accurately reflecting their ability to apply AI, as well as design, program, and control robots effectively.
Representatives from FPT University and teachers from various high schools attended the opening ceremony of the competition.
The theme of FARC 2025 is "Sustainable Agriculture." Competing teams need to invent robots capable of collaborating with farmers to build an advanced agricultural system that utilizes modern technology while retaining a distinctly Vietnamese identity. With this challenge, the organizers hope to discover talented inventors and innovators in the fields of agriculture and robotics, opening up many groundbreaking solutions for the future.
The competition will award many attractive prizes and scholarships to contestants in the AI programming round and the national final round, with a total value of up to 13 billion VND.
FARC 2025 is not just a competition, but also a vibrant practical environment where students can develop technological thinking, teamwork skills, and access modern scientific trends. It's also an opportunity for the education community and parents to see the outstanding potential of the younger generation in their journey to conquer the future through technology.
