The home team Hanoi Police (CAHN) and Ho Chi Minh City Police Club both have 14 points and are competing directly at the top of the rankings. The fateful encounter evokes memories of the fiery "police derbies" in the 80s and 90s of the last century, between evenly matched opponents. After the changes of history, the two once-famous names have been "reborn" in the highest football arena in Vietnam.

While CAHN Club has won the 2023 season, the Ho Chi Minh City Police team has just begun to regain its former glory with the first season under a new but old name. Although they have the same score on the rankings, in fact, CAHN team is still considered to have higher performance when Coach Polking's students have only played 6 matches and are still unbeaten (4 wins, 2 draws). CAHN Club is temporarily leading Group E in the AFC Champions League 2, also proving the stable performance of this team. Therefore, the home team CAHN is better in the match that promises to be attractive and of high professional quality.

At Thien Truong Stadium, defending champions Nam Dinh aim to win against Da Nang FC. If they still want to salvage their chances of racing to the top of the V-League at the end of the season, the team from the South needs to win all 3 points against coach Le Duc Tuan and his team. This is also the debut match of new head coach Nguyen Trung Kien, after Mr. Vu Hong Viet was transferred to the position of Technical Director of Nam Dinh FC. The storm of injuries as well as the decline in form of some key players are the reasons why Nam Dinh is facing difficulties in both domestic and international arenas. If they cannot accelerate in time, the risk of the team having to compete for relegation is entirely possible. Meanwhile, Da Nang FC is also at the bottom of the rankings so they really need a win. Although they are rated lower, the away team can still get points in the place that is considered the "holy land" of the defending champions.
WHO IS THE BOTTOM TEAM FACING DIFFICULTY?
Thanh Hoa Club and HAGL are both facing extremely difficult situations, standing at the bottom two positions on the V-League rankings.

The mountain town team, currently at the bottom of the table, will face a strong candidate for the championship, The Cong Viettel. Without their top stars, HAGL has clearly declined and has not won a single match after 7 rounds (3 draws, 3 losses).
More worryingly, HAGL has only scored 1 goal after 6 matches, the lowest number in the tournament. Meanwhile, The Cong Viettel has shown very stable performance with a series of 7 unbeaten matches (4 wins, 3 draws). Not only does the attack have a strong line (scored 12 goals), the defense of the military team has also conceded the fewest goals in the tournament (only 4 goals). Thus, facing a HAGL that is no longer itself, coach Velizar Popov and his team are expected to win all 3 points.
Thanh Hoa team is also facing the risk of falling into the relegation race, if they continue to stumble in round 8. The Thanh team must make every effort to defeat the home team SLNA, which has been unstable since the beginning of the season.
