Dien Bien District People's Council, 21st term, held a special meeting on administrative boundary adjustment

At the meeting, the District People's Committee approved the report No. 132/TTr-UBND dated April 19, 2024 on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Dien Bien district and Dien Bien Phu city; merging Thanh Nua commune and Hua Thanh commune, Dien Bien district after adjusting the administrative boundaries. Approving the summary report of the results of collecting voters' opinions on adjusting the administrative boundaries. As a result, 63,886 voters (accounting for 97.06%) agreed to adjust 8.09km 2 , population 3,448 people of 10 villages and hamlets including: Co Pao, Giang, Co Ke, Ha, Hong Lanh, Na Lom, On, Phieng Ban, Tong Khao, Doc Lap, Thanh Binh, Co Rom of Thanh Nua commune (Dien Bien district) merged into Thanh Truong ward (Dien Bien Phu city); Merging 18.26 km2 , 1,147 people of 3 villages: Hua Na, Men, Pom Khoang of Thanh Nua commune into Hua Thanh commune. After merging, Hua Thanh commune has a total natural area of ​​73.46 km2 , population of 4,163 people and changing the name of Hua Thanh commune to Thanh Nua commune.

Based on the results of collecting voters' opinions and considering the proposal of the District People's Committee, 100% of the delegates of the Dien Bien District People's Council attending the meeting voted unanimously to pass the resolution.

Closing the session, Comrade Cao Thi Tuyet Lan, Chairwoman of the District People's Council, requested the District People's Committee to promptly implement the resolution passed by the District People's Council; complete the dossier on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units to submit to the Provincial People's Committee. Continue to organize the implementation of tasks according to plan, especially the settlement of the organizational structure, arrangement of staff and civil servants; organize the inventory to prepare for the handover of the current status of facilities, equipment and assets of related communes to new administrative units.
