Bac Giang Provincial People's Council supervises the management of festival finances, donations, and sponsorship for relics in Tan Yen

Comrade Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, was the Head of the monitoring delegation; also attending were representatives of the Departments: Culture - Society , Law of the Provincial People's Council.

After surveying the relics of Ha communal house, Ha pagoda, and Luong Van Nam temple in Tan Trung commune, the delegation worked with the leaders of the district, commune, and the relic management board.

According to the report of Tan Yen District People's Committee, the whole district has a total of 96 ranked relics and assigned to the relic management board for concurrent management. There are 185 festivals in the district, of which 59 festivals are at ranked relics.

In 2024, through inspection and supervision by the industry, functional units at district and commune levels, the organization of festivals ensures compliance with legal regulations; healthy, safe and economical. The ceremony takes place solemnly, the festival enhances cultural, artistic and sports activities, especially folk games. The management and use of donation money and offerings at festivals and relics are strict and for the right purposes; the reception, counting, collection and disbursement of donation money and sponsorship are clear and transparent. These activities contribute to protecting and promoting the value of relics and festivals; contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.

Here, the members of the monitoring delegation requested representatives of the district and commune People's Committees, functional departments and relic management boards to provide further information on the planning, restoration and embellishment plans as well as the exploitation and management of relics; forms of receiving, managing and using donations and funding sources; methods of propagating and promoting relics and festivals; connecting with other relics and tourist attractions to form spiritual tours, attracting tourists...

Concluding the supervision session, comrade Nghiem Xuan Huong assessed that the investment in restoration and embellishment of relics and the management of donations and sponsorship money by authorities at all levels and functional agencies of Tan Yen district and Tan Trung commune have made positive changes. The attention to organizing safe and healthy festivals and activities related to the source at relics contributes to preserving and promoting the value of heritage; educating traditions for the younger generation.

He requested local authorities and functional agencies to continue mobilizing resources to restore and embellish relics; strengthen training and guidance for grassroots officials on organizing activities, receiving and managing festival finances and donations to comply with regulations; especially to carry out scientific, clear and transparent counting and recording of revenues and expenditures, and use them appropriately and for the right purposes.

He suggested that localities strengthen propaganda and promotion, install signs about relics so that tourists can recognize and understand; do a good job of ensuring security and order, fire prevention, fighting, and environmental sanitation at relics and festivals.
