Bac Kan Provincial People's Council opens the 27th session, term X

Speaking at the opening of the session, comrade Phuong Thi Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council stated:

The 27th session took place at a time when the entire Party Committee, all levels, sectors and people of all ethnic groups in the province were enthusiastically organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); Bac Kan Culture - Tourism Week 2025; the session took place in the context that Bac Kan province, together with the whole country, focused on ensuring progress for the implementation of the two-level local government model.

In recent days, the whole province has focused on collecting people's opinions. The People's Councils at district and commune levels have approved the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Kan province, and voted to merge Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces with a high consensus rate.

At this session, the People's Council will consider a number of contents, specifically:

Approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Bac Kan province in 2025; approving the policy of rearranging and merging Bac Kan province and Thai Nguyen province.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed the development of a Project to reorganize commune-level administrative units in Bac Kan province; closely coordinated with the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee to develop a Project to reorganize and merge Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces. The development of these Projects has been seriously and responsibly prepared with the participation of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level, ensuring compliance with the Central Government's direction, legal regulations, and suitability to practical conditions.

This is an important and historical issue to implement the Party's policy on organizing a two-level local government with the goal of building a government that is close to the people, serves the people better, and creates new space and room for development for localities.

During this session, the Provincial People's Council also considered issuing regulations on principles, scope, support levels and the use of funds for protecting rice-growing land in the province to serve as a basis for timely allocation of funds for implementation.

The content of the meeting is important issues that affect the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of tasks in 2025; the Central Committee's resolution and conclusion on continuing to reorganize the political system to be "lean, compact, strong, efficient, effective, and efficient"...
