On July 25, a representative of the Vietnam Blockchain Association said that the Association officially changed its name to the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Asset Association (still keeping the abbreviation VBA).
The new name represents VBA's change in direction, from promoting blockchain technology to playing a central role in creating and leading the development of the digital asset market and blockchain ecosystem, starting with the VBSN network.
The Code of Professional Ethics should be promulgated soon.

Since its establishment in April 2022, VBA has built a network of 115 official members in the fields of finance - technology - education and more than 200 cooperation agreements with many strategic partners, initially creating a close connection network between knowledge - market - institutions in the field of blockchain and digital assets.
Mr. Phan Duc Trung - Chairman of VBA said: "Over the past three years, VBA has not only focused on promoting the application of blockchain technology but also gradually built the foundation for the long-term development of the digital asset ecosystem in Vietnam through the pillars of policy consultation, education, community connection, and practical contributions to the development of blockchain technology in Vietnam."

The Congress also approved the election of 08 new Executive Committee members. Based on the approved new orientation, VBA sets a number of new goals for the 2025-2030 term to realize the core role in promoting the development of digital infrastructure, digital asset market and raising Vietnam's position on the global blockchain map.
Accordingly, VBA prioritizes accompanying the development of the Vietnam Blockchain Multi-Chain Service Network (VBSN), an open infrastructure ecosystem owned by domestic enterprises, capable of expansion and meeting international standards.
The Association aims to support the connection of at least 50 domestic enterprises to deploy blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) services on the VBSN platform, support the pilot operation of at least three public services using blockchain, and accompany the development of two fintech initiatives applying blockchain in the finance and banking sector.
At the regional and international levels, VBA aims to expand strategic connections through the establishment of representative offices in major financial centers such as North America and Dubai, acting as a bridge between the community of experts, investors, and overseas Vietnamese, while creating favorable conditions for VBA to strongly participate in global standard-setting organizations and transnational cooperation forums.
Mr. Phan Duc Trung commented: "With a new name, expansion orientation, and a strengthened leadership team, VBA is entering a strategic development phase. At this stage, technology is no longer the goal but has become the driving force for innovation, enhancing national competitiveness, towards the great goal of contributing to making Vietnam's mark on the global digital economic map"./.
