King of Jordan successfully concludes official visit to Vietnam

The leaders of Vietnam and Jordan agreed to strengthen political trust through the exchange of delegations, especially high-level delegations, and promote the early appointment of honorary consuls in each country to promote cooperation.

On the afternoon of November 13, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan and the delegation left Hanoi , successfully concluding the official visit to Vietnam from November 12-13, 2025, at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.

Seeing off King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and his delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE and concurrently to Jordan Nguyen Thanh Diep; Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Office of the President) Nguyen Vu Ha Le; Deputy Director of the Department of Middle East-Africa (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Nguyen Thi Bich Thuan.

During the visit, the King of Jordan and the delegation laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.

President Luong Cuong presided over the official welcoming ceremony and held talks with King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the Vietnam - Jordan Business Forum. Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Diplomatic Academy of Jordan.

At high-level talks, meetings and contacts, Vietnamese leaders agreed that Vietnam and Jordan have many similarities in their indomitable spirit and perseverance in the struggle for national independence and liberation. Vietnam values ​​and wishes to strongly, substantially and effectively promote the multifaceted cooperative relationship with Jordan.

Vietnam and Jordan have great potential to further promote effective cooperation not only for the benefit of the people of the two countries but also for the benefit of the ASEAN region and the Middle East. Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening relations with Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, a country with a very important position in the region.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein affirmed that Jordan wishes to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, especially cooperation between the private sectors of the two sides; hopes that the two sides will further strengthen political trust, expand cooperation in defense and security, share experiences in science and technology, and promote people-to-people exchange activities to further enhance understanding between the two peoples.

The two countries' senior leaders agreed that the two sides need to strengthen political trust through delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations; agreed to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries signed during the visit, study and promote the early signing of agreements to establish other cooperation mechanisms, and soon appoint honorary consuls in each country to promote cooperation.

On the basis of political trust, the two countries' leaders agreed to promote cooperation in other important areas, including defense, security, information sharing, and exchange of experts and officials between defense and security establishments to enhance mutual understanding and exchange experiences in areas of mutual interest.

The two sides agreed to facilitate the opening of markets for each other's key products, while encouraging businesses of the two countries to study the possibility of cooperation and investment, especially in the fields of infrastructure development, green economy, digital economy, telecommunications, production, agricultural processing, etc., promoting the connection of the startup and innovation ecosystems between the two countries.

The King of Jordan suggested that the two countries consider opening direct flights soon, creating favorable conditions for granting entry visas to citizens of both sides.

Vietnam is ready to increase exports of its key products to Jordan. Meanwhile, Jordan is ready to support Vietnam in developing the Halal industry through sharing information and experience in the Halal sector, Halal certification issues and opening the market for Vietnam's Halal products.

The leaders also discussed measures to promote cooperation in health, which is Jordan's strength, especially in the fields of telemedicine and the application of technology in medicine.

In the field of education and training, the two sides agreed to increase student and academic exchanges, especially in emerging fields such as science and technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors, affirming that these are very potential fields to open up opportunities for the young generations of the two countries.

Regarding cooperation at multilateral forums, the two sides agreed to continue consulting and supporting each other's candidacies as well as acting as a bridge to promote cooperation between the Arab League and ASEAN. The two sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea issue.

Building on the 45-year good development of Vietnam-Jordan relations, the visit to Vietnam by Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein marked a historic milestone in the bilateral relationship, opening a new phase of cooperation, creating a premise for promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest./.
