On the evening of November 13th, Nguyen Chi Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Deputy Prime Minister, visited and presented gifts to households in Huong Thuy ward, Hue city, affected by the recent floods.
Inquiring about the flood and damage situation in the locality, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the flood response work of Huong Thuy ward authorities and noted that the weather situation will continue to be complicated in the coming time. Therefore, local authorities need to soon have a proactive plan to care for and protect people's lives and quickly overcome and support people to stabilize their lives after the impact of floods.
Visiting households in Luong Hau and Luong Xuan residential groups (Huong Thuy ward), the Deputy Prime Minister kindly inquired about their health and family circumstances; and encouraged the families to quickly overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung hoped that people would strive to overcome their circumstances to live a useful life for society and contribute to their homeland and country.
Here, the Deputy Prime Minister also presented support gifts to two households: Ms. Pham Thi Thuy (Luong Hau residential group) and Mr. Vo Viet Quang (Luong Xuan residential group).
Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, Phan Thien Dinh, respectfully thanked Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung in particular, and the Party and State in general, for their concern and encouragement towards the people in the area. This concern and sharing is a great source of encouragement, giving more confidence and strength for the people of Hue to overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
The city is committed to continuing to implement solutions to mitigate the consequences of the floods, ensuring the safety of its citizens, restoring production, and stabilizing livelihoods in the long term; while also promoting a spirit of solidarity and mutual support so that no one is left behind in the post-flood recovery process.
Luong Hau and Luong Xuan residential groups, Huong Thuy ward, located along the Dai Giang river, are low-lying areas that are often isolated for long periods by floods. Faced with complicated weather conditions, local authorities have developed plans to respond to floods and evacuate people to safety.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung presented 25 gifts to the People's Committee of Huong Thuy ward to support other households affected by the floods.
