The "Cooking Service" model of the Women's Union of Vinh Vien town, Long My district has brought economic efficiency, creating many stable jobs for women.

Launched at the beginning of the year, the "Cooking Service" model in Hamlet 3, Vinh Vien Town, operated by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tu, has supported and helped many members in difficult circumstances and unemployed women.
Because she has been in the catering business for many years, she has a lot of experience and has trained and instructed her colleagues on how to cook delicious food and decorate beautifully for parties. To operate more effectively, Ms. Tu proactively participates in food safety and hygiene training courses.
When the “Cooking Service” model became a bit famous, taking advantage of the Association’s Zalo propaganda and promotional support from local departments and agencies, Ms. Tu’s service became known to many people. Up to now, there are 12 female members and women participating in the model.
The services that Ms. Tu and her sisters bring to customers include renting tables, chairs, tents, decorating gates, and cooking all-inclusive meals... depending on the needs and nature of the ceremony or party.
The ingredients used to prepare the group’s dishes are all clean, of clear origin, ensuring food safety and hygiene for customers. Every time there is a party order, the women receive about 300,000 VND/day of work based on the scale of the event that day.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tu shared: “As long as the customer requests a location, not only in Hau Giang but also in Can Tho, we will meet the demand. Because parties are not always available, and many women are starting to participate, I try to take on any event so that the women have a stable source of income to take care of their families. Although it is hard work, sometimes the weather is unpredictable, we still have to complete the event on time. Having a job and ensuring income for women in these difficult times, I am very happy.”
Ms. Tu's goal is to be able to buy a car to add car rental services and take women to the wedding decoration place, because currently, members and women still have to ride motorbikes to carry each item to the event location, wasting time and travel costs. In the near future, Ms. Tu plans to borrow money to achieve this goal.
Ms. Phan Thi Thu Phuong, President of the Women's Union of Vinh Vien town, said: "Ms. Tu is a curious person, creative in her work, always actively participating in local movements. When participating in the "Cooking Service" model, she proactively attended training courses to improve her skills, actively shared knowledge, and wholeheartedly supported female members and women to have a stable job, a good income, and aimed at helping women develop more and more."
The Women's Union of Vinh Vien town will continue to maintain and develop the "Cooking Service" model, develop a plan for training, improve cooking skills, creative decoration, promote propaganda on zalo groups of all levels of the union; support capital to invest, upgrade equipment to serve the model, introduce local women who do not have stable jobs to participate. At the same time, replicate the model to neighboring hamlets in the town.
From the effectiveness of the "Cooking Service" model of the Women's Union of Vinh Vien town, it can be affirmed the important role of the union organization and women's members in economic development, creating sustainable livelihoods...
